The designer of the Millenium Falcon said he had the B-29 nose in mind when he designed the cockpit.

So it was a timely arrival of my 3rd B-29 in 1/72 (nearly got enough to field a bomber wing so I might get a wing commander's hat)

    The Falcon is also 1/72

But this is not just any B-29. This is number 77 AKA Bockscar...

Bockscar is less famous than Enola Gay but is the plane that dropped the plutonium bomb Fatman on Nagasaki

This model comes with 1/72 Fatman and also a Little Boy, the Uranium bomb dropped on Hiroshima a few days before Nagasaki

Needs a bit of tidying up and paintwork finishing, but that is what I am here for.

^The bloke sent it wrapped in some kind of synthetic cotton wool

Surprised it arrived intact with a 60cm wingspan. They normally require hangar repairs after a bumpy touchdown for at least a propeller blade or 2 if not landing gear

Have not worn jeans for years so I thought I would buy this pair of 501s on eBay for $20 (with free rip hole at the knee)

    Show us your impulse buy-20250328_022016-jpg

I then sold my old pair on eBay for $40 so I am $20 up with a ventilated pair that fit me. The old pair were too tight for me since I bought them 30 years ago.

Levi 501s used to be luxury items. When I was a student I paid 5 times that much for a new pair. Which adjusted for inflation was about 15 or 20 times as much. It was 4% of my total living expenses for a year including rent and food and alcohol so they were guarded with my life and watched like a hawk at the student residence laundry room while they washed.

    Very nice Tax!

My youngest bought something similar and has self taught himself watching YouTube tutorials in a few months.
He sent a video to his prospective music college and got offered a place at the first interview.

What's sort of tunes are you going to learn to play first?

    I reckon you're a Hendrix man..

not a big fan of hendrix actually. i like guitar driven rock, jazz and electric blues.

i've never played guitar before so i will be guided my teacher and what i can pick up from youtube. hopefully i will discover that i have some ability and am able to make some progress.
