    Reebok launches tuk-tuk shoes

THE tuk-tuk, Thailand’s famous three-wheeled mode of transportation, is getting even more worldwide recognition with a new collaboration between Reebok and Barcelona-based designers 24 Kilates.

The brightly-colored LX 8500 sneakers, which are set to be released mid March, pay tribute to the festive colors which often adorn the vehicles as they weave through Thailand’s busy traffic.

The clip featured above is the promotional video released before the shoes’ official launch.

Viewers are taken along for a ride with the shoes as its wearer explores the bustling city of Bangkok – all while being ferried around in a stylish tuk-tuk with a matching color scheme, of course!

Depicted in the video are some of Bangkok’s notable sights, such as the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun and the Grand Palace. Even the upbeat music has a distinctly Thai feel to it.

If you’ll recall, not long ago, Miss Universe Thailand Aniporn Chalermburanawong won the Best National Costume award at the 2015 Miss Universe pageant thanks to her unconventional tuk-tuk-inspired dress.

The winning dress had been designed by Hirankrit Pattaraboriboonkul, 35, an official at the country’s Culture Ministry.

The shoes have a built-in GPS that directs you to the nearest tailor or gem shop every time the wearer hears the words "the grand palace is closed".

Every morning as you tie the laces the shoes ask you "hey you, where you go..".

And, when activated, the integrated fatigue recognition feature sounds an alarm "massage, massage", yes.

A spokesman for Reebok, a Mr. Rick Shaw, said he is delighted with the result.

Presumably, PR whores are now as fucking moronic as the riffraff at whom this shite is aimed?
Err, it's a fucking shoe, multicoloured with a fucking union jack. What the fuck has that got to do with Bangkok and a three wheeled, two-stroke, noisy engined mode of transport?

Its the style choice for the lumpen masses too fucking stupid and ignorant to realise they are no more than bags for food and fillers of pisspots.

they also happen to be a cheap and comfortable shoe for pounding the uneven and broken pavements of thailand for those who would rather not ruin their mephistos or north face walking shoes.

Well he does go to Gullivers.

    Well.... tries to.

They could at least put some wheels on the bottom of these shoes, like all the cool kids have had for the last few years. 3 wheels of course. Then they might, just might, have some sort of connection to the Tuk-Tuk other than being assembled by $1 a day Asian slaves.
