^ Good. Then I'm pleased that I may have helped with that and my first day in my new home hiding from the sun hasn't been entirely wasted
It's cooling down a bit so I'm going out to explore.
Has someone sent a link to this thread to mumsnet?
Cujo you plonker
I never figured Cujo to be a hysterical neurotic. Funny how things go.
One paracetamol tablet isn't going to matter diddlysquat. Just make sure she doesn't whack down a quart of Scotch - the combination is bad for the liver.
You are making assumptions here. The dosage is approximate and in truth is nowhere near as much as that indicated, particularly here in Thailand and taking into account degradation. There is also the question of metabolism of the drug as it progresses through the system and generally only a proportion, usually between 50 - 75%, of the active ingredient actually gets absorbed through the stomach etc into the bloodstream.
Given this and the reasonable certainty that she only took one tablet, which she doubtless chewed thereby reducing the drug efficacy further, I think Cujo's disquiet would be better focused on something more worthy, such as chance decapitation by a frisbee thrown by a one-eyed Lascar recently discharged from a ship in Shanghai.
Seeking, please get your facts strait before posting about something you know absolutely nothing about. Absorption of regular release acetaminophen is actually 85-98%, not the 50-75% you state. It also might help if you quote sources.
Absorption
Regular-Release
Oral acetaminophen is rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract primarily in the small intestine. This absorption process occurs by passive transport. The relative bioavailability ranges from 85% to 98%.15

Your comment about chewing a tablet is also false.

You are making a common double deduction mistake. The toxicity levels are based on the amount ingested not the final amount absorbed, and assume average degradation. To base it on the final amount absorbed is dangerous.
Cujo is in two minds about whether he used two or four of the five missing tablets himself. In such circumstances medical professionals take a worst case scenario approach and would assume that the girl had ingested three tablets.Originally Posted by Seekingasylum

Chipping in with an 'eight' comment long after this figure has been moved on makes you look a tit.
I won't bother hitting the view post button again for any of your shit.
Nope, don't think it has.Originally Posted by Henrie

8 tablets blah blah. So foolish.
8 tablets are highly toxic in a 4.5 year old and will likely prove fatal. 3 tablets are toxic and will likely cause some permanent liver damage, with death possible in some. Fine if you guys are only interested in the former.
Still trolling.
I thought you were leaving ?
Cujo, did you tell the wife?
