Two wheeled vehicles should be banned.

I know this is going to upset a lot of people here but motor cycles are the worst things ever invented.

I have lost a few number of dear friends who have died because the vehicle they were driving didn't provide the impact protection needed.

I was driving my car today and was held up behind a twat on a motor cycle who couldn't move over a metre to allow other vehicles to pass. Someone overtook me on a motor bike and then hit the idiotic motor bike rider and there was blood and guts everywhere. People believe that motor cycles help traffic flow and in my mind that is complete bollocks. They are also pollution monsters and better burned.

Not to mention the fact that most Thais overtake on the left basically because they can fit their bikes there and when you hit them during their illegal and dangerous action the BIB want to blame you.

I have picked up friends from motor cycle accidents, visited friends in hospital because of motor cycle accidents, been to many funerals because of motor cycle accidents and am sure I will continue to experience these very disturbing events whilst people dive these two wheeled death machines.

Ban the things but off-road sales should be OK because they are great off-road machines.

Imagine the roads, and the parking, if all the motor cycles were replaced by a pick up or an SUV.

It's blokes or whover like Dapper who love the two wheeled death traps, love to wear their badges and bandaners and scarfs with a few Tatts who refuse to accept that these machines are death traps.

Great off-road machines for sure but on public roads are a nightmare.

As Dapper has educated us about you can fit at least 7 people in a space you can fit 2 maybe three bikes.

    Foot print logistics don't lie.

The way Thais park motorcycles is a bollix. They don't give two fcuks about other road users and take up the space of a pick-up or SUV.

^ Another point, in fact motor cyclists are the worst trained, without common sense and or compassion for their fellow road users I have ever seen.

Clean the two wheels off the roads and you will see the death toll drop and the roads will be more easy to use.

You're just stupid mate - you're not alone - billions of you people around the planet

You're spouting the stupidity Volvo did in the 80's

Volvo - Safe like a tank.

Yeah, but what about the poor fvcker in the mini you destroyed.

How about we all use kevlar composite electric vehicles be they 2 wheeled or 4 or whatever with hovercraft type skirts around them that cost nothing and kill nobody?

    Over your head?

Looking at all the sad fckers on their own in some motor they spend half their months salary on sitting in traffic for 30% of their lives cracks me up.

    Youse are stupid as.

    Thanks Dapper for you response.

Moreover I would campaign for these very rich concerns like Honda and Kawasaki to build a people mover 4 wheeled vehicle within a price range that everyone can afford.

C'MON............People buy and take the risk on these death machines because they don't have a financial choice.

Imagine if all the good Thais could afford a four-wheeled vehicle.

    Fiscal choices.

A man on foot can work within a few miles of his residence.
A man on a bicycle can work within 5 to 10 miles
A man on a motorbike can work within 50 to 100 miles....

It's not the bikes that are the problem, it's the poor training and enforcement.

Since I came to live here full time in Nov 2003 7 farangs(as far as I know) have met their end through riding M/cycles, as for the local coconut heads who have been maimed ,crippled and killed within 10 kliks either way from my home ,I have truly lost count ,as I mentioned to one guy who has lived locally for over 20 years that life was cheap here , he dryly remarked yeah its the cost of a new rear bulb(35 baht) for their motor bikes

How often have you sat behind some person on a death trap doing 30km per hour and you cannot overtake because there are other death traps entering on the other side of the road.

Fucking nightmare and on a daily bases for me.

I agree completely with Loy Toy. They are utter death traps and many a young person has died because of the lure of cheap transport plus the glamour of riding them. And each death affected a whole family.

Stupid damn things. I fell for their allure when 18 and 19, and now I bear the scars of a car driver's stupidity. I could easily have been killed.

    To my fellow members.

I had my first bike when I was nine years old.

Enjoyed riding through the mountains and was quite good at trials riding.

These machines are dangerous on the roads and will continue to cause death and tradgedy for families because purely and simply they are not safe.

Have you ever noticed that a Thai on a motorcycle cannot look right and turn left at the same time. They never look until you sound your horn and then with surprise as if 'where the fcuk did you come from?'

    Your welcome.

I would campaign for them to make a four wheeled covered bike inline 1+1+1+1 to solve the traffic problems myself. 70-80% of vehicles use twice the with of the actual passengers.

A no brainer for city/city vehicle designers if you think about it no?

How many times have we been sitting in a bar, some farang on a bike bike has arced it up to impress all and sundry and then you hear he hit a soi dog and lost half of his face on the gravel.

Driving a Kwaka 900 on the autobahn in Germany is nice but boring.

Give me a new Audi any day of the week.

Mate I have sat in traffic jams behind Tuk Tuk's in Bankok which are half the width dimension of most cars but take up the same space.

And not to mention what these two stroke pollution machines spew out.
