Success in Thailand: It's all bout the internet.

I have never been to Thailand. But the weather, food, and low cost of living entices me. So much so that I plan to move to Thailand after quitting my day job.

But I know that with Thai laws being the way that it is, it would be hard for me to have a regular job. This is fine with me bcz the last thing I want is a regular job.

However I know there is money to be made online. I made a good chunk last month myself.

So don't wish me luck. I will be making my own luck in the Land Of Smiles.

Why do you have a day job if you make money on line, have a few friends here who earn a living off the net, but they made their living in their home countries on line.
What will you be doing that makes a living here, that can't be done where you live now.

My day job pays the bills. My online "job" pays for my early retirement. Lots of $$$ to be made online. Last month's online take equals about 2.5 months income with my day job.

If you were in fact earning 2.5 times as much money online as your day job pays you wouldn't need a day job and you would already be living you Thai dream, I suggest you change your name to LandOfBullShit.

The most hawkered market as we type.

I can imagine young people setting up internet scams, corporate opportunities developed from artistic web page scammers drawing in retirement funds and hedge funds stealing the money under the pretense that they are legal.

    BULLSHIT

He answered one of those ads "Work from Home Earn $$$$$s".

Now he's given all his bank details to a Russian scammer.

Haha. You jaded Thai farangs are a riot. I do in fact make a pretty nickel online. It's a niche skill I have which I will be bringing to Thailand. As long as I have a good internet connection, I could make money. In the Land Of Smiles!

I guess what it boils down to is that there are really only two kinds of people in this world.

Those that take the negative outlook on life. Don't think anything is possible. Spend all day spewing negativity. Have poor or non-existent relationships with their family, friends and fellow human beings. Haters.

Then there are those that impact this world in a positive way by going out and turning their dreams into reality and bringing the light into the dark corners.

I'll be coming to Thailand and I'll be shining!

    Stay Sexy Peeps(tm)!

landofsmiles - or, you may hang for a couple of weeks and flee back to California, tail tucked between your legs, whining, "what the hell was I thinking".

You've never been here. Are you really as naïve as you come across on this forum, or are you just trolling.

Realize that the vision of Thailand you have garnered based on internet stories and tourist brochures neglect to mention the following; the heat, humidity, dirt, filth, pollution, vermin, disease, distress, bigotry, poverty, disregard, ignorance, destruction, disgust, crime, obstruction, injustice, favoritism, cruelty, etc. etc. the list goes on and on, ad infinitum.

So, for your own benefit. Visit here a couple of months before you make any long term plans and do not burn any bridges.

And do realize that you need to receive legal permission to stay in Thailand for an extended period of time or you are risking incarceration. Also realize that you need to be in compliance with all regulatory and taxation issues.

good luck but plan intelligently. Do not let you desires cloud your judgment.
