How to disagree agreeably

Do you now how to disagree agreeably? Some people seem to find it difficult. Disagree with someone and they might call you a troll. They might call you a coont, kunt, cnut or [at][at][at][at]. They might cast aspersions on your sexuality. They might make assumptions about your religion, your ancestry or even the clothes you wear. They don't know how to disagree agreeably.

What advice or suggestions do you have to disagree agreeably? How can you persuade others to follow biblical examples to "live at peace with everyone" (Romans 12:1) and "love one another as he commanded us" (1 John 3:23)?

How should we handle our differences to avoid or reduce conflict and polarisation? How can we "love" each other even when we are convinced our fellow Teak Doorian brothers and sisters are 'fookin wrong'?

Start with something like, "I see your point, however the way I see it....."
Or.." BULLSHIT.." and go on to tell them how it really is.

The maturity required isn't evenly distributed.Tolerance respect and humour.
I know many posters find my post boring/annoying irrelevant and some express that forcefully or via unsigned reds yet for the most part I think all native speakers enjoy the banter and looser moderation than other places.

Wit and style are the key an insult from Terry or Withnall is something to be savoured and always funny.

To be fair some of the Grumpy old blokes here, don't hear natalie NR moaning on and on.However it may be the only place they have an audience and we will all be there with ache and pain terminal knob rot horrid in-laws and more behind them than to look forward to.

BERLIN – Police say a man angered by a family feud has set off explosives outside his house in Germany, killing himself and wounding seven people in a small village.

Police spokesman Thomas Rodemer said that following an argument inside his home in Homberg village in Hesse state, the 49-year-old man drove away in his car, then returned and blew himself up inside the vehicle parked outside the house.

The seven people slightly wounded by debris from the explosion included family members, neighbors and two police officers who had been called to settle the family argument. The blast also damaged neighboring homes.

Rodemer said the bomber had a license to use explosives and that police are investigating the case.

The man's name was not released in keeping with Germany's privacy law.

I believe what you are trying to do is indeed most admirable. It does seem to have got off to a somewhat shaky start, encouraging a higher degree of anger from some posters and increased stupidity from Rural Surin.

I hear what you say, Chas, but in my experience, "slightly less than optimum intellectual performance" sounds a tad less confrontational than "increased stupidity".

Also, naming (and perhaps shaming) those slight under-performers might lead to angst and anger on their part and the possibility of a lob back at you and the inevitable back and forth name calling that leads to disharmony amongst our fellow TD brethren and sisterhood. Perhaps a smile and a kind word would be more appropriate in such circumstances.

Until you begged for my attention with your repo I barely knew you existed. Other than this one, I honestly can't remember a single thread or post you've ever made. I just remember you as one of the posters who makes loads of posts in the dog house.

It's members like you that want there to be an 'us' with other members, that drag the place down.
