Teakdoor's Hot and sticky yarns quiz - WITH PRIZES

1st prize: A copy of Once upon a time in the East: Hot and sticky yarns from rural Siam

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Once-Upon-Ti...rhf_se_p_img_7

2nd prize: An evening on the beer with Senor Slap in a London watering hole of your choice (travel not included)

3rd prize: Five days on the beer with Senor Slap and Master Withnallstoke in the Yorkshire Dales (must be in October - participants must be willing to be buggered if no livestock available; not my rules)

    The quiz is simple:

First person to reach 15 points gets 1st prize, with the two contenders closest scooping the remaining spoils.

Questions will largely concern the nuances of Isaan and rural Thailand.

    Enjoy and good luck.

    Number 1: (2 points available)

What is in the bucket and why is it in there?

Rat or gecko. One of the two.

However, it might also be those little fish / shrimp things that are in mud, and they are about to wash away all that shit to leave in the sieve the little fishy shrimpy things.

Makes more sense than my idea. At a guess it is a rice paddy rat, that will later be steamed in a leaf or something. I am sure there will be some chillies added later

Rice paddy rat being prepped for supper. How does the wet charcoal assist the process?
