With the weather being so nice and my one night a week drink night I decided Friday Night would be Mai Tai night. So I got out all the booze and mixers and made up some. My wife really likes these and the way I make them they pack a punch. Not pictured was the fresh Pineapple juice my wife was making from a few we bought on the way home from the store. Amazing how good the pineapples here taste and how cheap they are. 5 baht per Pineapple. In the US you were lucky to find one half the size as here sold by Dole for 120 baht.
I'm quite fond of Mt Gay. In NZ if I couldn't get Appleton Estate, Mt Gay was my fall-back rum.
First time I tried it. I sipped some neat and it has a very nice nose and taste. I have some 20 year Plantation XO Barbado's rum but have not opened it yet.

Oh!!! A few months ago I had a few nips of a few Plantation bottles of various vintages. One bottle was apparently only one of a dozen brought to NZ. Sublime. I predict that when you do open it, you'll ration yourself to a couple of nips on special occassions only, and let no bugger try it.It really is good rum.
I'll play Bobby Brown for you.....Later.
The fish
Well after receiving deliver of my Jacuzzi, I dug around in my Liquor Cabinet and pulled out my Milagro Anejo Tequila and enjoyed a few fine sips
Beer Lao?
Vientiane?
No Eatigo?
Coffee...later Beer Lao, so horribly jet lagged this time. Swear it was easier when I was younger so their is a linger of depression about the whole aging process.
Bogon Tips #459 and #460
For nighttime beer and eye candy. Walk out Avalon and cross the street, then take your first left. Will see/hear a large bar with a massive Heineken sign.
For daytime grub, go to the French place down the square. Have a nice lunchtime deal on for a starter and main.
Black diamonds? I shit 'em.
Streetview not updated in Laos, but the beer place is here...https://www.google.com/maps/@16.5728...2!8i6656?hl=en

Well worth the 3.5k a night for a wet couple of days up there.

BREWED WITH PRECIOUS Khao Kai Noy
It's a type of rice.

I don't find the difference over the standard light brew worth it, personally.
The dark brew is infinitely superior to both imo.
Just arrived in Jomtien, a Beer Laos on the beach sounds like a good idea
