Ozzie wine is so 90s.
Drinking from a fairly repulsive box of the stuff myself.
Thailand.
Somebody was posting the other day about how one of Thailand's booze billionaires was a business genius.
What a fucking joke. :D
The bonuse about drinking those Aussie boxes of wine is you can inflate the bag inside once you've finished the 5 liters and use it as a pillow on the park bench:)
I'm drinking a bit of Jack Daniels and cola this evening.
^ A fine combination.
One of my old time favs.
Would go for them if not on beer all through my 20's.
Now I can't drink Coke or any of those soft drinks, far too much sugar and shite in them, especially if drinking 25 glasses of them. :)
Tonight, Bacardi Oro which the main mrs bought because it looks nice. :)
Lime, mint, ice, soda, water, Barcardi Oro. Gotta feeling I'll wake up queerer than Butterfly.
as per the hong tong sour I was drinking in thailand - a shotglass of hot water and dissolve 2 teaspoons on honey in it and add a squeeze of lime and then pour it over crushed ice and the shot of whisky and top up with soda water
I stopped drinking spirits with coke etc in my mid 20's and moved to soda water - have not had a hangover headache since
Have drank all the wine in the kids bedroom (except that which form part of their bed ... long story) and haven't bought any for ages.
Then I remember I stashed some Champers and a few other boxes under our bed.
Rooting around, I found 1/2 a case of this ...

A medium bodied Shiraz showing layers of dark plums, pepper and spice with fine grained tannins. A real down to earth style!
Bought it a couple of years ago and promptly forgot about it.
Lovely colours and mellowing tannins. Tasted great last night.
Sadly I didn't have a sharpish cheese to match, some Edam was all there was in the fridge.
Only had 2 glasses ... and it breathed overnight in the 1/2 bottle and WOW ... smoother then Lulu trying to get into
Gik # zillions pants.
Sorry I can't share.

Wonderful stuff. Great nose. Sip in a Bourbon type glass neat....
Just to lower the tone a bit ...
I'm drinking Leo this evening.

Very nice if you prefer a dry cider. I enjoyed the change from sweet.
A couple of days ago, Oslo airport. This is what a 12 quid pint looks like.

To add insult to injury, Oslo has started charging for the plastic carrier bags to put your duty free in. I'm all for saving the environment but that is just blatant profiteering. Who has their 'bag for life' when travelling?
Not my favourite malt, but it was on offer...
Will be back on the Ya Dong by this time next week.

To be fair he probably bought a cheap grog as the family will demolish it on the first night home, smothering it in ice, water and tonic
Which to be fair to the Thais Bowmore deserves.
This was on offer, the 15 years was double the price, and tbh is wasted on me. All the others were a big step up, I just tend to guzzle and this bottle will last a couple of nights and then back to sharing the gardener's Ya Dong. I'm trying to stop drinking anyway.
Its a tough audience... not sure weather to risk showing off me Bombay Sapphire in a couple of nights now...
Never mind the Hi-So snobs Mendy. :) One of them sports a stained Chang vest that doubles as a family tent.
Kopper. 6 cans of. Settle the stomach after the 2 liters of Mont Claire last night/this morning. :)
Was it about 15 bucks?
Is he still toewanking the dogs?:)

^ Naah... we've sorted that out now! You have a good memory (but it wasn't his toes).
I've been away a month and only back a day, but have noticed a change. Both of the young boys seem to have stopped lying on their backs. I guess things just sort themselves out in the end.
^^ You're supposed to pinch the beer mat after you finish drinking.
I acquired a genuine Leo beer glass in Bangkok last weekend and was eager to try it out. Meant breaking my new 'no drink on weekdays rule', but rules can be broken for special occasions.

^ Weight and high blood pressure mainly... next week...
Honestly those are just numbers manufactured by people to sell you drugs. Has nothing to do with alcohol consumption....:smileylaughing:
Drink up but for gods sake will ya drink some respectful liquor...You ought to be ashamed of yourself posting up a picture of Bowmore. Might as well drink warm Monte Claire in a box like LuLu.....:)

Winery Tasting Notes
The bouquet exhibits fresh strawberry, red guava and apple.
This refined Sparkling displays, strawberry, lemon and white cherry flavours, which are enhanced by subtle brioche autolysis characters from the secondary fermentation.
The wine shows a fine bead, lively mousse and tight crisp finish.
Well, that didn't take long.
I've only been home for four days and have gone from sipping malt (albeit much maligned) from my fancy whisky glasses to swigging the gardener's very red looking Hong Thong straight from the bottle. Looks like I'm back on Baldrick's Ya Dong again!
