^ sorry to hear about that, mate. Next time, let me know and I'll try to help you out with a better lawyer...

^^ Scribe Slaps, always a pleasure to have a conversation (of sorts) with a man of your quality and experience. Now,

Three down and one to go. I love Triples, and this one was pricey at 10,000 won which is about 296 baht according to Google. That's six squids, so you'd want it to be decent. It is decent, but it's not spectacular, imho. It's the best of the three, just, and it's 9%. It's quite a light drinking 9%er, at first, but I bumped into several door frames on my way to the toillete a second or two ago. I would buy this again, but not at the price.

This is a better triple (the best I've ever tasted) and is cheaper (if you can find it, which I could not this afternoon):

I have to get up early(ish) to clean the house tomorrow (you know, those random panties and thigh high boots, lying around...) before the missus returns, so I left just a standard low % weissbier for last (that's experience for ya! Notice how I did it: 7%, 8%, 9%, then 5% - live and learn kids; going on a bender the night before the big boss returns is for 35 year olds, not 45 year olds). The next one is a 500MLer which should nicely put me to sleep (I wonder if I've got time to interest the neighbour (and work colleague) in a quickee before I go to sleep this evening)?
    Cycling should be banned!!!

It's all a matter of context, Stoker. I will be stone cold sober and sombre for the next 12 months or so (unless the missus decides to take another holiday). Thus, 4 beers won't hurt anyone...

It's all gone. T's probably for the best.

Tastes a bit like wa'er this stuff, I remember it being stronger, or at least I think I do. 500mgs of quite nice 5.4% of wa'er. I think I'll start cleaning the place a bit then head to bed (I'm 2 hours ahead of you lot in Thailand).

IMHO If you been drinking into and through the night until morning its a late night drink. Its an early morning drink if you get up and pour.... At least that how I see it. Good times either way.....

Well our 3 day holiday is coming to an end. Presidents days was today so company was off. I spent a good portion of today helping an off-roader buddy of mine drop in an ARB Locker differential to his Toyota Tundra.

After the job was done, hands all cleaned and feet up I'm just about to open this bottle of Russel's Reserve I picked up.

    .

    Back to work tomorrow.............

I have found an answer to my diabetes vs dream of a pint problem at last. It requires a strong after work regime of exercise to get the blood sugar level low enough to allow for a couple of well deserved beers:

Unfortunately, simply raising the glass to the lips is not enough exercise so I have to walk a couple of miles to the shop that sells this stuff each evening after work. The walk has proved more than worth the effort...

Good idea I follow the adage "all things in moderation including moderation."

I have found a site (Alcohol: American Diabetes Association®)
that says diabetic men can have 2 drinks per day and women one. It doesn't mention exercise at all (of course, I'm a big proponent of hard exercise):
Wondering if alcohol is off limits with diabetes? Most people with diabetes can have a moderate amount of alcohol. Research has shown that there can be some health benefits such as reducing risk for heart disease. But, moderation is important. If you have any questions about whether alcohol is safe for you, check with your doctor. People with diabetes should follow the same guidelines as those without diabetes if they choose to drink:

Women should have no more than 1 drink per day.
Men should have no more than 2 drinks per day.
*One drink is equal to a 12 oz beer, 5 oz glass of wine or 1 ½ oz distilled spirits (vodka, whiskey, gin, etc.).

A UK pint is 20 fl oz (US is 16 fl oz)...so a couple of pints of beer is a little more than the recommendation you have posted. A bottle of wine is around 25 fl oz, which is, again, a tad more than that site would like me to drink.

However, exercise allows those rules to be bent to suit ones lifestyle and shortcomings. I am a sucker for a bottle of wine or a couple of beers every now and again. When I was first diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes the Doc said the next pint of beer would be my last. At the time my blood sugar level was so high he was more than likely right.

I have found a way to exercise in such a way that my blood sugar is low enough to allow me to drink 2 pints of beer without worry...I can even have a bottle of wine every week if I follow a couple of extra rules...Nothing too dramatic, a 3-mile walk every day on a low sugar diet allows me to drink at least one beer and if I run the 3-miles in under 24 minutes I get two!

For the bottle of wine, I get a little high on the sugar in the morning but it is easily burnt off and costs me a few extra home sugar tests. Those test kits are worth their weight in gold!

But the point of my previous post was to plug Marston's IPA...a lovely pint to savour and I found it in deepest Bavaria...

I'm not drinking today and that is really irritating me.... Been dry since last Friday. I am feeling a half a bottle night in my near future.

One of my colleague buddies hit me up and said his liver was in recovery mode as he knocked down 13 Hoegaarden's the other night. How can anyone spend the time to drink 13 beers? What a waste of precious drinking time IMHO not counting the 75 piss runs to the bathroom. All good....whatever gets ya to where you are going I suppose.

Yeah I was and trust me there is no way to drink enough beer to anesthetize oneself in a bad marriage .

I have never enjoyed whisky, but can cope with a whiskey...

...this is not half bad for those that find even whiskey a little too much....

It looks electrifying, Troy. Have you been tippling it tonight? Or perhaps a nice bit of red wine?
