Plus my boys went to a Birthday Bash yesterday ... heaps of yummy cheeses left over and they were going to throw them out (yes, they are that rich (sigh)) so a perfect accompaniment to the wine as I watch the All Blacks rip the Wallabies another hole in Perth.
I've woofed down the Red Leicester and the Camembert yesterday. Currently just polishing off the Double Brie and a harder, drier (more crumble) cheese (drier than a Cheedar, less than a Parmesan ... maybe a Manchego??) with black pepper corns and fennel seeds.
All divine.
Happens once a year and I'm making the most of it
... and diet tomorrow :)
^ Some fookers have all the luck. :)
Enjoy. :tumbs:
Famous Grouse for me tonight. Having returned to Teakdoor it would be silly of me to drink anything which was of a high standard. Dross suits posters here and I am keen to become one of the herd once again. Nothing snobbish about me, happy to be of the gutter in order to comply with the norm to be found here.
^ Stop pretending that you can afford to drink any expensive piss.

The boxheads were the other main contenders in the early jet propulsion race, until the war's conclusion ended their efforts
The Heinkel 162 on the right was made of wood towards the end of the war as supplies dwindled.
The Messerschmidt 163 Komet on the right was the only rocket powered fighter aircraft ever produced in aviation history.
Looper - i don't know if you can access it or find a copy but Guy Martin Last Flight Of The Vulcan Bomber as quite good

Last week I tried mixing Sweeps lime soda with Captain Morgan spiced rum.
It was very good!!
Lime soda worked well with JD also.

With the raining coming, Cracked me a new bottle of a Double Oaked Bourbon and will watch it pour.
Very nice. Was that one of the ones you brought back from the US trip or did you find it in Thailand? I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that around.
Actually this is one of 2 bottles brought over by a US work colleague right before Covid crippled my supply chain. On the brightside it appears late November traveling will start again. I have already put in my requests with a few engineers that are planning a visit. Could be a 4 bottle replenishment. :)
Looks like Chitty’s still in his shed with his gut rot Brandy at 2:00 am.
Nothing much has changed.
Yeah it is however they do not bring their own for self consumption. They usually enjoy beer or whatever at their hotel when here. Its a weird deal, The limit is 1 liter per traveler but as you know in the US they bottle at 750ml ( for most). So they usually bring 2 bottles each and are over the limit but has never been a problem. I typically have them shipped to their house all paid. If they get confiscated, no loss on their part.
Aaah, gotcha! Makes sense.
What's the celebration?
Friend's bar- he just opened it.
Fair enough, all the best to him!
I'm not sure if opening a bar now is genius because the competition are all laid low or entirely out of business and people are now wanting to get out and about after being locked down for so long. Or it's a risky maneuver, because COVID is not over yet, and even when it is, people have less money, lost jobs and saving and therefore spending habits have changed, and the good times for bars are in the rear view mirror.
But I'm not a barman, so my views are not worth much in this sphere.
It's actually a member's club, so doesn't really have to follow the same lockdown rules. Nothing is impossible in UB.
^Sounds like fun, Mandy. How's Covid now in UB? Are you still teaching from home?

Having my morning breakfast protein shake. No big breakfast for me today.
Coffee from my keurig and a protein shake. Got to get those liquids down.

Covid is still here, I'm back to fully in person- for now. On the subject of drinking- there was a huge event put on by Moet lately and some Mongolian pop band. Thousands went, it was totally maskless. A bit concerned there will be a spike.
What sort of fresh hell / sorcery is this! I’m not even anywhere near drunk (yet)…
