Below is a news story about some happy go luck Australians (sigh...must be immigrants) taking part in the protest. Blissfully unaware they could be arrested and deported and are likely to be standout targets if the snipers turn up.

Aussies in thick of it give protest a whirl

These three Westerners at Asok intersection are among several foreign tourists who took part in the Bangkok shutdown protest yesterday.
Among the sea of Thai people clad in national flags and T-shirts bearing anti-government slogans, the two Melbournians stood out boldly, although each tried to blend in.
Mr Abbott sported a tri-coloured wrist band and the familiar whistle around his neck.
''I think when you go to any country or community you get a vibe or a sense of what's happening in that community, and clearly here you can tell the masses are angry and frustrated,'' Mr Abbott said.
While the Australian government's Smart Traveller website advises tourists to ''exercise a high degree of caution'' and ''avoid all protests'', the two said they felt perfectly safe snaking their way between the demonstrators at Ratchaprasong intersection.
''Look at the crowd. You can pretty much tell they are a very normal sort of peace-loving community,'' Mr Abbott said.
''It's not like it's a bunch of rioters going crazy, as I think we would be at home.
''It's aroused a bit of intrigue for us; you know, let's go have a look.
''When you talk to people on the train they tell you stories about the current regime and what's been happening, so we thought, 'Let's go down and support them'.''
He was also surprised at the calm reaction of the government.
''If this was in Singapore, they'd probably have the water cannons on them by now,'' he said.
Mr Williamson, on his second visit to Thailand, said he had spoken to locals who said they were frustrated with the government.
''We get the impression they are sick of the corruption, and they want a broom to come in and chuck the lot out and put a new team in without the corruption,'' he said. ''But they all seem very happy [at the protest]''.
