I came home from work to find...

...My girl had bought a lovely new bedspread. She knew I would like it because 'It's got Scottish tratan design'

I just couldn't find the words to explain the error of her ways.

    Where did you get this?
    Market.
    Phew! Give to your brother.
    Why?
    Umm....

What nightmares have you came home to that were a result of consultation-less decision making?
    Lang may yer lum reek...

Poor thing, thought she could please you and get in touch with her inner Chav. All bedspreads are gray in the dark.

My Mrs had the house painted once while I was away.

The wondered why I didn't think the purple and green job was atractive when I returned.

I'm really not that fussy, something like this would have sufficed:

Honestly, don't know. I looked at the first photo and thought whats wrong with that. It was only Kurgens pointing out that it was burberry clicked the link to "chav", and the only way I know the burberry/chav link is through jokes. I would not actually be able to tell you a piece of burberry.

For bedspreads, I generally go with "blue". Thats about it.

Yes, you are right. What is it with the green? My last house was even worse.

That's right, who cares about bedspreads? You can have any colour of bedspread as long as it's blue! Haha.

Not sure where you're from Mate so fair play, but most people here will confirm, the burberry is pretty bad.

yeah. Expat brit, but 25 years out of the country so the whole "chav" "burberry" stuff was after my time. I did spend several years a while ago wondering about "shell suits" which were after my time as well.

Probably just as well I missed it all.

Any dark colour for a spreadsheet is good. They help to hide the stains.

Burberries? I thought they were furry gremlin-like dolls. Don't know what the hell Chavs are. I've only just found out what a Pikey is (I think).

As soon as I understand the answer to the following question, I'll post it in the "You've Been In Thailand Too Long" thread:

What is it with Thais and this round pillow-thing they have to stick under the bedspread like some giant dick? To my farang brain, it looks stupid.

^ Ah the 'bolster' - Weird, but you eventually get so used to it that when you have to sleep without one it can be disconcerting.
