Some (high school) students today asked me why I never wear my 'national dress' to work. Students and teachers typically wear traditional clothing on Fridays and it's quite a nice change of pace, actually.
I responded that I did, nearly every day...pressed shirt and trousers, necktie, belt and dress shoes. They said nope, too generic. I asked what I should wear instead to be more representative of the USA, and the answers were quite humorous: cowboy, cheerleader, astronaut, basketball player, soldier, rapper, etc.
It got me thinking, what the hell is my 'national dress' anyway?
wife beater and jeans with a backwards baseball cap...?
cowboy, hipster, goth, prison inmate, biker gang, frat boy, mass murderer armed to the teeth...?
People of Walmart...?
fat suit...?
I dunno.
HOW ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY?
