i sometimes read his weekly reports, i cant see what all the negativity is about.

he reviews the nightlife, and does it well.
he knows his readership and it is to them that it is targeted, not the holier than thou bible thumping hypocrites who consider paying for female company to be beneath them.

his reporting is readable, with good information about restaurants and bars, and his photography is excellent.

those who dont use the services offered by the bars will nearly always look down on those who do and take any opportunity to slag off someone who, god help them, actually makes money from writing about them. political correctness will probably kill his website off, just as it did trinks column in the bangkok post, and eventually prostitution in thailand will return to the place it originally emanated from and should never have left, i.e. behind closed doors. it should never have been allowed to be so in your face as it is now.

prostitution should be a discreet pastime for those who wish to indulge.

the attack on his wife or ex wife was malevolent and completely unnecessary.

many men, through stupidity, naivety, loneliness, personality problems, low self esteem, lust or even good old fashioned love end up marrying hookers and her advice column was full of good advice to those who had encountered problems without being judgemental.

Not really. And I got no issues with what teachers do in their private life. But this guy puts himself out there as a public authority on whoring in BKK. If you think this is OK for a school teacher up to you. I don't and pretty sure most others would agree.

Not trying to take the moral high ground mate. I just think it's inappropriate for a teaching professional to run such a website particularly since it's illegal.

I'll ask again, what do you think his colleagues, department overlords and parents think of the situation? They probably have a different view to the single male monger minority.

What if he had a website on where to get the best drugs in Thailand (whilst being a school teacher)? Would you think that is OK?

I've met Stickman a few times. He's an intelligent, unassuming guy who's used his focus and hard work to do well in Thailand. His detractors often seem jealous, frustrated that they haven't been able to do anything constructive or lucrative in Thailand. My only issue with Stickman is that his website over the years has become so plastered with ads that it's visually quite annoying (and for me, nearly unreadable) despite good content. Regarding the hypothesis that Thailand has 5-10 years left as a sexual playground, the scene has simply shifted to customers of Asian descent and to the Internet. Western tourists simply can't compete anymore financially with all of the Asian tourists. The more appealing Thai concubines have very little reason to be employed in the farang-oriented bars anymore. They do better with Asian customers or finding their walking ATM machines on the Internet.

Farang bars are the last chance saloon for most dark skinned monkey whores. If only Stickman would just admit it.
