Has anyone had shock wave treatment to break up/disolve a kidney stone? My driver was diagnosed with a fairly large kidney stone a couple of weeks ago. After meds to try to shrink/dissolve it, another ultrasound today shows it unchanged. The doc says time to go to shock wave to break it up. All that I read says it's a very common procedure, but my guy is scared shitless. Out-patient procedure, maybe two hours total for the job. Anyone had it done? Thanks.
