As has been said before here, Kids are great growing up until they get to be close to teen age, then that is the time to wander off and find an overseas job as they will drive you nuts, break your heart or both.
We [my wife] has a daughter who is basically a good girl, I came here when she was a knobby kneed, crooked toothed little girl 11 years old and she was a good kid that did her chores and her own laundry and ironing and never caused anyone any trouble, then she got to be a teen ager, we got a grill in her mouth and she started to fuk up once in a while, not bad but stuff she was not supposed to do, now she is a very pretty slim 17, chasing 18 years old with straight teeth, and if you do not watch her close she will do things that she knows damn well upsets her mom.
I just do not know what will happen when she probably goes to univ. in BKK next year, I think that it will be a very trying time around here tho.

That is probably why. How long was she taking the pill?
Yes, and talking from experience in the Philippines, she might not realise that there are different brands of pills, some will "not agree" with her, but others probably would, so it could be she rejected the concept prematurely.

OK, here's a woman's perspective (but it sounds a lot like Frisco Frankie's)...

I didn't even consider children until the biological urge hit me (I was 28) -- don't ever underestimate a woman's physical "pull" towards having children. It was a complete surprise to me.

Fortunately, I had an education, a stable career, a house, and a somewhat mature husband. There are no guarantees with marriage, however, and we divorced when our son was 4 (20 years ago). We've remained good friends and parents together since, and God knows he took a lot of parenting!

It's the most difficult and challengng thing I've ever done. Also, the most rewarding. I think 30-ish is a good age range for having children. Any later for a woman can become more difficult physically.

When I married again last year, the family increased. It's ever so much easier dealing with adult children. We have a half-Thai son and daughter, an adopted Thai daughter, and a Thai niece who was sponsored to the U.S. but never adopted. They are all terrific, and my son finally feels he has siblings.

Definitely worth the effort put into them.

In my experience, the "ideal" time for fatherhood coincides with pregnancy I'm not being facetious, both of my sons came unexpectedly, as babies often do...
