Dead body pictures, should they be allowed?

I think that they should be not allowed. It was in rather bad taste.

Pictures of dead people are good for reminding us of our mortality and this is why they are often used in Thai Buddhist temples.

The more blood and guts the better.

that wasn't posted on the frorum, it was just a link posted to image shack or something like that.

I see the Yes vote is in the lead I think they are ok as long as they are pixalated on the face and the gory bits, I mean can you imagine getting up one morning hung over, logging onto td, and the first thing you read is about a woman being killed by a train and then get to see close up pics of differant parts of her body spread over a wide area next to the train lines

If anyone answers 'no' then pictures of a funeral or wake would be forbidden. Are you going to ban pictures of the crucifixion ?

I don't think the problem is with showing a corpse but rather with blood and gore. Also the words posted alongside should not be rejoicing in someone's death.

I must say that where I grew up, we never saw this level of detail - it was normally a sheet-covered corpse, at worst.

The typical Asian blood-&-guts pics - albeit pixelated - have made me much more aware of just how fragile life is.

I voted for showing with pixels over the gory bits.

i think it should be decided on a pic by pic basis.
If it's a gratuitous shot fot the thrills then delete it.

if it has some value, which i feel this one did in that it might be the best evidence that we get before the boys in brown manage to botch the investigation, then leave it alone.

Personally won't be saving it to my hard drive though.

I voted yes, There's nothing wrong with seeing a body bag or a painted line around where the body was or a covered up body.

The first time an image here has really bothered me here is these 2 Russian women. A lot of folks are implying because they are Russian it's ok and they deserve it!
What about if they were Americans? would be it Ok then? or Brits?

That photo is the worst to appear on here, a murder scene with two women with visible gunshot wounds blood and nudity. Those two are just stripped bare of all human dignity by that photo in my opinion.
It serves no purpose for the public other than titilation, I can understand the authorities need for those images as it is a murder scene but for the press to be that near is just wrong.

Maybe I'm shocked because they're women?
