    School

Wife went to the twins' school today. Peeked into the classroom, and came home well pleased. She informed me that our son must be doing well, as he had a seat separate from the rows, and right next to the teacher - seat of honor. Really don't have the heart to break it to her........

Was it a regular chair or did it have any special design features or additions?

My brother told my sister (an ivory-tower, prep-school, Latin-teaching academic) that his son (we'll call him Johnny) made the principal's list...

She was thrilled that little Johnny had done so well...

Meanwhile, my brother and I were convulsing in laughter, knowing full-well, that the only list Johnny made repeatedly was the principal's shit list...

Maybe in Flippoland it's different, maybe Davis jnr is allowed to bring his .45 to school, and the teacher wants him close at all times for protection...

The most popular guy at my high school was the dude that ended up with the most caining from the principal.

Sort of competition to see who cracked it.

My Senior year of High School, my running partner and I logged in more suspensions than the entire rest of the Senior class combined...hope it's not genetic.

I ended up in the principal's bed with his son's ex-girlfriend...

She happened to be on the rag...and we left his mattress looking like the Japanese flag...

I just realized until I was 12 I was a good boy. 13 sure did change that. Plus I was back in America not in a class of 15 in Saudi Arabia.

He was a massive drill-sergeant type of principal who commanded discipline, which wasn't a bad thing in itself, but he physically abused the boys of the school while cuddling up to the girls, and they had him wrapped around their collective finger...

So......as Bugs Bunny said to Elmer Fudd..."This means war..."

Our group was actually named The Rebs by the teachers themselves...and no matter what happened in that school, my name was called to appear at the office...I got fcking tired of angry encounters with him, denying doing something I hadn't done...

Granted...a lot of the time it was me......and he would belt me until he got tired...but I never gave him the satisfaction of a wince, let alone a whimper...

I understood him and respected him, but steered clear, except to plot all kinds of pranks against him....

It took great stealth and cunning because he might've killed us if he caught us...we would block up his car...and we engineered the stealing of his main office desk before summer break, which was quite an ordeal, because we couldn't let anyone see us...we held court with it out back across the creek...those were the days...

I think he really had a tough time when I had to ask him for a written recommendation for acceptance to university...

Private. De La Salle University. They also have a High School section. Generally, it's pretty good. Teacher/student ratio is ok, and the facilities are good. Twins were in Montessori pre-school through 5. Then moved them to DLS for the last year of Elementary. Now in 1st year High School.

Aside from the private filipino schools, what are the international school fees like over there Davis? Here in LOS they're outragous.

Impossible unless you are having tuition paid for as part of a Diplomatic or corporate package, or are just filthy rich. Be about $30,000 a year for my twins. And that's just tuition - no extras.

If that's for both then much cheaper than Bangkok. $25k per student grades 9-12 at high end International school.
