    Can You Digg It?

If you're the type of person who spends hours every day glued to their computer screen, you are either very clumsy with glue or there's something wrong with you.

Anyhow, I find that there is so much stuff on the web that it is difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. I recently discovered digg Digg / News There are a number of these 'community' sites, and digg is my favourite. The idea, as I understand it, is that digg members give a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' to web sites and charts of popularity/recommendation are built. It's a good starting point if you are bored and just browsing in order to pass a few more miserable minutes of your pitiful existence on this godforsaken hell-hole of a planet. Rather than stumble through my clunky attempts at explanation, much better you go have a look-see yourself - it's all very easy to understand....unless you are the type of person who
    glues themselves to computer screens.
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!

You're just now discovering it? Have you been banging stone tablets together to get on the internet before now?

    You use toothpaste?

I think Digg and other sites like it are an American thing. Slashdot.org is the same kind of site.

I think those guys have been around for years. I think Digg is on version 3.0 now. There's some good stuff to be found there.

Click on one of the numbers by one of the Digg stories. The comments are priceless.

Usually the goal with the comments is to get the largest Digg possible by making up some witty retort to the OP. People who are a member and logged in can give each comment either a thumbs up or thumbs down. Usually the more controversial the story the better the comments.
