The 20th Anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster

Not a nice subject for the Sports room but something all football fans will remember.

April 15th 1989 was FA Cup Semi Final day between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at Sheffield Wednesdays Hillsborough stadium.

Dreams and hopes of a cup final place at Wembey were on the minds of the supporters as they waited for the match to start, the ensuing chaos that left 96 Liverpool supporters dead are now the memories that replaced those dreams.

I don't really understand this, seems to me that the people who were involved in this hooliganism affair were to blame for what happened, they were not forced into that mass overcrowding and shoving but were there because of their own stupidity and uncivilized and animistic behavior, and now are trying to blame someone else for their gross behavior.
For a sissy game that soccer sure takes a toll on spectators.

There were a large group of people waiting to get into an already packed enclosure, this was nothing to do with hooligans. The police opened the gates and pretty much let anyone in without checking for tickets or safety, the rush of people caused a "wave" which crushed the people to death.

You really should not comment on something you know nothing about. Especially a subject such as this.

I was going to reply to your message when I first saw it but thought it was best to calm down first.

Have a look at this link mate. Maybe you might understand a bit more.
