^ The truth is, we don't really need MJ to fire on all cylinders - of course, it's great when he is, but we have guys like Harris, Starc, Hazlewood who can be just as dangerous. We also have alrounders Mitchell Marsh & Watson who bowl handy seamers. Johnson may find it hard to keep up the pace he needs to be at his potent best, but he is no longer wayward and is one of the most physically fit players we have. I believe we will still have another year or 2 of him bowling well at least - but the frightening thing for you guys is we have clones waiting in the ranks in Starc and Cummins who are also lefties who swing it at 150km+ - then there is Pattinson who is also very young and can bowl 150km - he is the real deal and once he has matured more will be a big asset for us. Our bowling is far superior to NZ and only because they were cocky did they lose the 1st test. I predict a lot more 'bunny in the headlights' look on the faces of your batsmen next time we meet

Err...excuse me Wally...but the Baggies are playing in...England...not the Gabba...they would not be the first Aussie side to land in London expecting the Poms to fall on their swords...and end up on the receiving end...for start they won't have sycophantic SCG members in the stands...and as they showed at Eden Park...they do get surprised when they hear what other people really think of them...sure I think they will be competitive but I also recall back in the days of radio commentary the Poms, especially Botham and Willis...taking it to them at Headingley...oh and to the point...the kiwi bowlers are much better in English condition than your mob...sorry.

Can't argue with the proposition that, all other things being equal, the Aussies carry more bowling threat among their quicks.

And the number of balls with 'boundary' written all over them that Craig got away with was a concern too as far as dealing even with their mediocre spinner goes.

We'll see. There have been plenty of Australians who've failed to fire on tours of England in the past.

There will probably need to be a few flops among the Aussies for England to prevail this summer.

I also think there are a few in the Aussie side that could fail on this tour the captain being my biggest worry.

Just read a very good article on Hazlewood, sounds like my kind of bowler, I like a like a guy who can think a batsman out, they can take wickets on any kind of pitch (unlike Johnson who needs his Mum to think for him and hasn't been successful in England where the pressure is too great for him).

McGrath was the Master and Joel Garner was another one of that ilk, hit's the bat hard.....

Unfortunately a sign of the times though - for some countries anyway. NZ fans don't really fancy test cricket as Bruce says. Whether that's because they were crap at it for so long or the punters find it too hard to follow I'm not sure, but cutting out test matches to replace them with ODIs is no way to go about it..
