I'm just a wee bit disappointed that one of my countrymen came so close, but didn't quite get there for the first time in 3 generations.

    likewise.

I fancied my celtic brother to take this one, especially after beating Nadal.

He had a very tough road to the final mind.

now he's ranked in the top 4, the passages will be a fair bit easier to the semis.

If his name was Timmy he'd win Sports Personality of the Year just for reaching the final.

Murray battles to win over Nadal

Murray now heads to Doha to start the season proper at the Qatar Open

Andy Murray completed his preparation for the new tennis season with a hugely encouraging win over world number one Rafael Nadal in Abu Dhabi.
The British number one followed up Friday's defeat of Roger Federer with a 6-4 5-7 6-3 win over Nadal in the final of the exhibition tournament.
