To put that in perspective, for me at least, at 16 myself and my dad spent 2 months mountain biking and mountain climbing in a van tour of France and Spain during the summer holidays. We actually stayed in Barcelona for 2 weeks or so, and played football in the local square with the locals every evening. Looking back at how young I was, the idea that at that point in my life I wouldn't have been playing kickabout but representing my country while starting in a European Championship game is about as possible as Gaudi suddenly waking up then popping round to help with some architectural design.
