^ bet you were screaming yesterday.
Unlucky
Mooooooooooooooooooo
ve on.
Arteta has been given the wave byebye
^ Just being a devil PAG. IMO if any of the managers for the last 10 years had put in a defence we'd not be in the position we are now, ironic given what we had early 2000's. Still watch this space, hope springs eternal.
I feel for the youngsters who have nothing to look up to in Arse ATM, they are the only ones earning their crust.
The display yesterday was pathetic, no urgency in the 1st half, no idea, no clue why anyone thinks Auba is a Capt as well, he's not a leader. We need a strong central defence character who uses the F word frequently and the threat of violence at half time
Certainly in the era of Adams, Keown, Campbell, and a midfield with the likes of Viera, there is no comparison. Seaman in goal of course was a great help, but then there was a great midfield/forward line to move it to. Sad decline. Arsenal playing Stoke on a cold and wet Wednesday in a couple of years, hoping they beat West Brom in the Championship play offs.
80's/90's Arsenal were built on their defense.
Dixon Adams Keown (Bould etc) Winterburn, with Seaman behind them.
Wenger inherited them, built a (close to) world class team ahead of them, and the question would always be what would he and future managers build once they all retired.
Answer: Not a lot.
Did anyone else see them play Thailand and lose?
Would have been about 2000, I think.
We were all surprised that the guy who put in the most effort was Manu Petit.
A much underrated player compared to Vieira.
Don't think it would have been after that, remember being in Dahab that entire summer and reading the news that Barca signed both him and Overmars on a double deal. Think a week or two later Madrid signed Zidane for 46 million.
Speaking of Zidane, saw him in the 700 Year Old Stadium in 2006 in an Adidas sponsored Best of Thai League V Singapore (I think), played one half with each.
Was 1-2 months after his retirement after playing in a World Cup final. Was like watching a 28 year old pro playing among 6 year olds, which isn't a slight on the other players.
Edit: Excuse my poor memory, was Feb 2007 at The Municipal Stadium.
Will have to remember that next time I go running on the track there.
???????§????!

^ the start of the Adnan Januzaj era.
The next Giggs.
50 million quid interest from Inter, they said.
Fulham have left the building.
On the way up we have Norwich, Watford and one of Brentford, Barnsley, Swansea and Bournemouth.
I hope it's Brentford.
