The Seahawks v. Oakland pre-season game starts in 2-hours. Many starters will not play and there are only a couple players competing to stay on the roster.

IMHO you can't just go all in on the stats. I care about the system ... the head coach. Great head coaches can implement a system to make guys like Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, Tebow, Michael Vick look great. If Jim Harbaugh was still a 49er then I think Kaeperdick still would also.
What team(s) currently have a system most like what Harbaugh ran with Harbaugh at the 49ers? IMHO it's the Seahawks. I wouldn't mind having Kaeperdick as a back up except I think he's not worth the potential divisiveness it could create should Russell Wilson have a bad couple of weeks.
Fook Kaepernick. I hope the pussy was/is worth it. He's no Ali or Jim Brown or any other cultural icon.
Kaepernick got in them drawers on that hot babe ... tapping that ass and now she playing his dumb ass. Costiing him bank. Fuck that dumb shit. He gave up his man card.
NFLPA thinks strong case can be made to challenge Ezekiel Elliott's suspensionNFLPA thinks strong case can be made to challenge Ezekiel Elliott's suspension
According to a source familiar with this week's appeal hearing of Ezekiel Elliott's suspension, Kia Wright Roberts, the NFL's director of investigations, testified Tuesday that she was the only NFL employee who interviewed the running back's accuser, Tiffany Thompson, during the investigation and that she would not have recommended discipline for Elliott based on what she found.
Roberts further testified, according to the hearing transcripts, that she was not included in the part of the process where the committee that investigated the Elliott matter recommended discipline to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
As a result, the NFL Players Association believes it has a strong case for challenging Elliott's suspension based on what it perceives as serious flaws in the NFL's investigative process, the source said.
Trevor Boykin will #2 or #3. He knows the Seahawks system. He has flashes of good, but then throws very bad passes (bad decision making).
Austin Davis is looking good and is competing for the #2 QB back up spot.
There was *never* a need for Seattle to have Kaep, IMO. They had him try out - perhaps out of curiosity? Or, to be doing the "right thing" by technically giving him a chance?
Being in uk I'm not an avid NFL supporter but I always take an interest to follow the league as it progresses.
I've followed it for about 30 years though, and adopted Raiders as my team,
On my one trip around the u s I got to go inside LA Colisseum and Oakland Stadium, and a few others.
So many games are decided in the last 2 mins, so keeps you watching.
My motto, don't back against the Patriots
Yes, Boykin was bad against Oakland and he was awful the week before. His comments after the game show he's not even acknowledging that he could have done better.
I think Boykin will be let go and Austin Davis will be backup.
The O-line (according to the analysts) is doing OK so far in the pre-season. (And Pre-season is not the real deal obviously.) Of course, the regular season will tell the tale. Losing George Fant in game #2 for the year changes things and they acquired a new OL guy within 2 days (and his track record is bad).
If RW gets injured then Kaep and other available QBs will be called up.
And if RW gets injured long-term that will be it for Seattle, even though they are solid on D and have lots of depth with Wide Receivers.
I don't think RW will run as much as he did 2 years ago in the 2015 season.
There is always the possibility of injuries.
this ezekiel elliot situation is more than a little bit troubling.
Ezekiel Elliott of Dallas Cowboys has six-game suspension upheldElliott had his appeal heard last week in New York with three days of testimony lasting 25 hours from Elliott and multiple experts and witnesses, although Thompson was not allowed to be called. It was revealed during the hearing that the league's lead investigator, Kia Wright Roberts, was not at the meeting in which Goodell and the four advisors reached the conclusion Elliott needed to be suspended. Roberts was the only NFL employee to interview Thompson, doing so six times, and she recommended Elliott not be disciplined.
Sucks ass quite honestly. While the Boys are deep with talent it is such a shame for him being denied a chance to defend his rushing title crown. I followed this case since early on. Its all BS. sad in that no arrests were made, no evidence, just a filed complaint of a pissed of girl who saw her meal ticket going away.
At least I can watch the Boys against the Giants and Zek will play.
^
i don't know if it's "all bs" or not....but something's definitely not right.
1. based on previous suspensions, 6 games is a steep penalty
2. the cops determined there wasn't enough evidence of a crime
3. the only NFL person who interviewed the alleged victim didn't find her credible
something stinks....badly.

This is why the Baltimore Ravens backed out from signing Colin Kaepernick just as they were to sign him.
Ray Lewis said Baltimore Ravens didn't sign Colin Kaepernick after girlfriend's 'racist' tweetRay Lewis said Ravens would have signed Colin Kaepernick if not for girlfriend's tweet
BOWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Ray Lewis said the Baltimore Ravens chose not to sign Colin Kaepernick after the quarterback's girlfriend posted a "racist" tweet featuring the former All-Pro linebacker and owner Steve Bisciotti.
- Jamison HensleyESPN Staff Writer
"We were going to close the deal to sign him," Lewis said on Showtime's "Inside the NFL" on Tuesday night. "Steve Bisciotti said, 'I want to hear Colin Kaepernick speak to let me know that he wants to play football.'"
"And it never happens because that picture comes up the next day."
The Aug. 2 tweet by Nessa Diab compared a picture of Lewis hugging Bisciotti to a scene from "Django Unchained," where Samuel L. Jackson's loyal house slave held Leonardo DiCaprio's cruel plantation owner.
"His girl [Kaepernick's girlfriend] goes out and put out this racist gesture and doesn't know we are in the back office about to try to get this guy signed," Lewis said. "Steve Bisciotti has said it himself: 'How can you crucify Ray Lewis when Ray Lewis is the one calling for Colin Kaepernick?'"
Lewis was asked whether the Ravens would've signed Kaepernick if not for the tweet.
"Then he's flying him to Baltimore," Lewis said. "I am sitting with all three of them and we are all having a conversation about bringing Colin Kaepernick in."
Kaepernick drew national attention last season when he knelt during the national anthem before games as a protest of social injustice, which he said he will no longer do in 2017.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh brought up the possibility of pursuing Kaepernick at the opening of training camp, when quarterback Joe Flacco informed the team of his back injury. Team president Dick Cass later indicated that the Ravens had direct contact with Kaepernick, who informed Baltimore that he still desired to play.
Ravens officials acknowledged they had consulted with fans and former and current players, as well as sponsors, about Kaepernick.
"Pray for us," Bisciotti said of the team when weighing its decision.
Kaepernick's girlfriend then posted the picture of Bisciotti and Lewis three days later.
LMAO. Oh man, sometimes karma just really has a way doesn't it?
Hey, hang on. Did I just hear something? Yep, that was officially RayCarey's head imploding. BWAHAHAHAHAHAH.
That should about wrap this up then. Time to turn out the lights.
I don't agree with the 6 game suspension of EE.
Now you're on about EE and Ray Lewis.
Ray Lewis plead guilty to a misdemeanor and testified against his 2 companions who were found not guilty and the jury ruled it was self-defence (although Lewis did pay a settlement to the families).
The white suit Lewis wore that night has never been found.
Here are five common misconceptions about the murder case involving Ray Lewis:
1. Ray Lewis was involved in a murder – Ray Lewis was an eventual witness in a murder case. He was charged with the murder of Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar along with his two companions Reginald Oakley and Joseph Sweeting. The murder charges stemmed from a vicious fight in Atlanta streets following a Super Bowl Party in 2000. Eventually, the case ended with the defendants acquitted for reasons of self defense. In the eyes of the court, no murder took place.
2. Ray Lewis’ friends went to jail to protect him – This is in a lot of blogs and opinion pieces. It’s just not true. No one in this case went to jail.
3. Ray Lewis refused to testify against his friends in the murder trial – It’s the opposite. Ray Lewis started the trial at the table with Oakley and Sweeting. He flipped, pleading down to an obstruction of justice charge in exchange for testimony. Lewis was the state’s star witness. Some sources say the three men were no longer friends because of the alleged betrayal. Ironically, the only person to serve any sentence in this case at all was Lewis. Had he not flipped, he likely would have walked away with the same acquittal as the other defendants.
4. The murders were never solved – This is written a lot, along with something to the effect that no other suspects were ever arrested. It doesn’t seem to be in dispute that Oakley and Sweeting killed Baker and Lollar. The jury found that it was self defense after only a few hours of deliberation.
5. Ray Lewis is a murderer – Ray wasn’t involved in the fight that killed the two men. His companions were. Lewis wanted no part of the fight, but not for some moral or noble reason. He wanted to avoid the conflict because he was concerned it might hurt his NFL career. Throughout the process, Lewis seemed consumed with protecting his then burgeoning NFL superstar status. He made them promise silence in the limo afterward and lied to police the morning after. He flipped on his buddies to avoid scrutiny.

elliott's legal fight looks tough.
https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/09/06/ez...e-amos-mazzantAs detailed in previous SI legal articles on Elliott, Judge Mazzant will only grant a temporary restraining order (TRO) if Elliott convinces the judge of four factors:
1) he enjoys a substantial likelihood of success of proving that the NFL unlawfully conspired against him;
2) there is a substantial threat that Elliott would suffer irreparable harm—which normally refers to harm that can’t be remedied through monetary damages—if Judge Mazzant doesn’t grant the TRO;
3) the “injury” facing Elliott without a TRO would outweigh any damage to the NFL cause by an injunction; and
4) an injunction against the NFL and in favor of Elliott would not disserve the public interest.
Each of these factors lends itself to competing arguments, but given that Elliott carries the burden of proving all four factors, the odds favor the NFL on whether a TRO will be granted.
Judge Mazzant, however, enjoys substantial discretion in deciding whether these factors are met. This creates unpredictability as to how he will decide.

2x pro bowl DE michael bennett recently had a gun put to his head by cops in vegas
can't answer that yet, eh?Hours after Seattle Seahawk Michael Bennett posted on Twitter today that an Las Vegas police officer held a gun to his head and threatened to “blow [his] fucking head off” the night of the Mayweather-McGregor fight, Undersherriff Kevin McMahill of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department held a press conference to take questions about what happened. But one really key question—why did police consider the unarmed Bennett in a room full of people running from a possible shooter to be suspicious—went unanswered, with McMahill saying, “I really can’t answer that as yet.”
i hope he sues the shit out of the LVPD.
