Read above...I posted the article verbatim...I do not use the term soccer...I think I called it Association Football in my previous post

But the article you quoted to support your assertion used it and therefore loses all credibility. No serious author or journalist would allow it. Result = your argument is in tatters.
One tip for you Bruce, you might want to try replying to the post instead of the poster. Good luck with that.

How did the game of Rugby begin? The popular belief is that in 1823, a pupil at Rugby school in England, William Webb Ellis, picked up the ball and ran with it during a school soccer match. The problem with this belief is that soccer did not exist at that stage either.
Are you spouting bollocks again hoping no-one will pick you up on it?

Soccer existed in Britain in the 1300's.

Although not called that, as the English term 'soccer' is only about 150 years old. Despite Brits not liking the term, it originated from England, not Seppostan.

No, no, no Bruce now you're really telling more porkies because the time lapse from me posting the above to you posting your long diatribe was more than an hour
plus, in fact I would estimate it at a very long time.
you would have everyone believe that the legions of Rome each sported a rugby xv? ....ie Legio 1 Germanica versus Legio V1 victrix .....venue
The Colleseum where the victrix fifteen won a great victory due to the fact that their hooker Biggus Dickus won the ball in every scum with the help of his huge appendage. You gave us the ''loose arm '' well now i'm giving you the
''third leg '' compliments of Biggus Dickus...... :welsh:

Meanwhile, back to the 2014 Six Nations

I don't particularly support any of the teams, simplistic I know but just hope to see some good rugby; I'll follow England's progress as may be in NZ when they tour there in June and hope to see one test and if possible the mid-week match v Crusaders.

These are the odds from UK's William Hill betting agency

    Winner:
    15/8 Wales
    9/4 France
    5/2 England
    6/1 Ireland
    40/1 Scotland
    125/1 Italy

and again, more Six Nations - next weekend's fixtures

    Saturday 1st February 2014
    Wales v Italy 14:30
    France v England 17:00

    Sunday 2nd February 2014
    Ireland v Scotland 15:00

Wales have a very good chance, but at anything shorter than 5/2 I wouldn't be interested.

France are probably about right, will be much shorter if they win their first game.

England should be pushed out a little.

Anybody fancy risking a tenner on Italy?

Wales should be more fancied than England, but France have to be favourites, Shirley.

    hardly a risk
    it's burning money

it's a very difficult tournament to win

4 teams are very even and scotland could beat anybody on their day

italy might win 1 or 2 and i'd love them to be seriously competitive at some point in my life time....but they have zero chance of winning the requisite 4 games...nowhere near enough squad depth

wouldn't be at all surprised if they lost both away to wales and scotland and home to england

I've been watching them in Europe a lot this season, they have a lot of good French players and they are winning all over the place. They also porbably have the best fixture list.
