He did win it. But Bradley did not fight his fight he fought Manny's and thus got thumped.

Yeah AO some what like the first fight with Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard , but to be fair I thought that Manny Won their first fight too, never Mind Bradley got a reported 6 million dollars for losing the belt and there,s still a few good fights left in him till he finally "hangs em up", one thing though if Manny ever does fight Mayweather theres no way he will stand and trade like Bradley did .

Manny (quite understandably) showed his age though.

Time when a wise man should surely hang 'em up.

But sadly they hardly ever do...

Hi Cyrille, I do not recall seeing you before on this thread , welcome aboard ,with regards to your observations about Manny showing his age ,after 12 torrid rounds with a truly world class unbeaten fighter like Bradley and fighting the last round like he was fighting the first I hardly thought that "showing his age" was the case , of course we all see different things in a fight thats a given , but if you noticed after the bell rang to finish the fight ,he would not have blown a candle out his breathing was so good, in fact I though Bradley looked more exhausted , Manny received a reputed 20 million for the fight with no doubt more to come , these days 35 is not old if you look after yourself ,one only has to look at Bernard Hopkins ,and many other cases were boxers have won the World Championship at aged over 35 , Jersey Joe Walcott, George Foreman ,Sugar ray Robinson, Floyd Mayweather and of course Archie Moore spring readily to mind , of course I could be wrong here but I think Manny's aim is to fight the "big one" with Mayweather for one last mega payday , for sure it will break all box office records with World wide PPV etc ,with the added bonus its the fight we all want to see

Cyrille , if you look at the score cards on the fight you will see that according to the ringside judge's Manny pulled away from Bradley in the last 4 rounds ,hardly the traits of a "shot" fighter , However I do agree with Ageing one that Bradley fought the wrong fight and chose to out brawl a known front foot brawler instead of "sticking and moving" which for sure Mayweather will adopt if they ever get it together

Great to see that Pacman is not dead and buried as a boxer.

I would love to see him against Mayweather and sooner rather then later.

The fight would shut a lot of people up once and for all.

Rich, educated people from genteel backgrounds rarely become fighters.

    Hungry, slum kids do.

    Manny was one.

His Mom is a nut job, who now has fame and fortune.

My wife, and a couple of friends, watched Mom's performance and just shook their heads in dismay.

Actually, I'm a bit bored of the two of 'em now, and reckon a fight could be an anti-climax... a few years ago, yes, now, ermmm, just bored of the 2 of 'em; both good fighters, very good, but massively overpaid and over everything...

It would be nice to see the Mouth knocked out though.

Yeah BB its like an ultra long playing Soap ,but still, I like you would not be bored if it came off and Mayweather got flattened

Agreed, but I don't think anybody out there is capable of doing it. Manny was, about 5+ years ago, hence why Mayweather avoided him. The Mouth has stayed closer to his best than the Flippo, imho - the longer they wait, the easier it'll be for the Mouth.

^ & ^^. I agree with both of you. There's a lot of money involved, and Manny needs it as, Filipino hero or not, he's in hock up to his eyeballs with the IRS breathing in his ear. It's all up to the ball-less mouth.....I also agree it's a huge anticlimax and has dragged on for years until interest has faded. The only interest is in seeing the mouth get smashed into the canvas.

Would be a nice retirement win for Manny - but I doubt he could walk away from the cash.

I read that Micheal Buffer is the ring announcer in the up coming Froch V Groves rubber match , I wonder what the tab is for his appearance of no more than 10 minutes of Gab?

He's got some real problems here. Like many fighters, everyone wants a piece, and he is uneducated and basically a decent guy. The Filipinos will slice him up and eat his liver. He is overly generous to his "friends", plus you have the wife's extravagance and the weekly witchdoctor sessions for Mom.

He'll end up punched out and broke, making an occasional ceremonial appearance.

Manny has got a great guy behind him Bob Arum who I think will give him good advice , but I do know exactly what you mean , maybe you have not read the Sad Story of Felix Trinidad in my post 319, he's not the first great fighter to finish up on skid row and he certainly will not be the last .
