Maitland; Vunipola; Hartley; and Waldrom should go just because it would be funny to have a bunch of Kiwis in the Lions.

Can guarantee that Delve won't be there, good player but Gatland has never rated him that highly......
Can't get on-line odds in puritan thailand- I assume the Lions are favorites?
^ Shame - well he will be there, but not in a red shirt.
The Italain prop that plays for England (Alex Corbis...) would be well worth taking if he's fit - the Welsh have an excellent front row, but perhaps a bit long in the tooth? (didn't look to be the case last weekend, but for a Lions tour???)
Corrected.... Yes if fit I would take him instead of Sheridan...... remains to be seen as I said earlier....Originally Posted by dointhedo
Oh and yes pseudolus.... Tom Wood..... good player, I always have a habit of say Croft when I mean Wood and vice versa.
As much as I have liked Croft, Wood is the player that I should have selected in my squad based on recent performances.
^^^Am I reading those odds right, Lions are the favourites?
How did you even think it was sarcastic.
It is as it says, I admitted an error......
Wood should be there as a 6 not Croft....
Maybe one could change his first name to Billy.
Does that mean one of us should go on about it relentlessly for the new few months?Originally Posted by Bobcock
Hahahaha.... No I'll just leave Croft in my team..... At least they are the same nationality....
My test team is every Welsh player who started against England, but.......
I would find a place for Simon Zebo (if fit), Stuart Hogg (fuck, have to leave out 1/2 penny), Ben Morgan (if fit) and probably that Tuilagi geezer and maybe Geoff Parling. Oh, and maybe BOD, or is that GOD? Guffaw.....
Cant wait to smash the convicts.......
Actually no, fuk BOD....but how can you say fuk BOD I hear you shout!, did you see his pass to Zebo against Wales, yes, I did, but his body has taken a reet bashing, oh the Lions, where art thou the Lions....
Why 11 English players. They got hammered by Wales last weekend.80 minutes of Rugby produced 3 points. They were shown to be wanting in all departments.I see in this mornings press England are saying it was all the referees fault. Typically English--the last refuge of any loser-blame the referee.I doubt Gatland will follow your lead-With respect 4 English players at the most.Originally Posted by Bobcock

4?....you are having a laugh....one defeat doesn't make the English players useless, just like 8 defeats didn't condemn the Welsh to a similar fate......
I admit I've been generous to promote balance, but balance is a good thing and crucial to the tour's success.
I didn't say the English players were useless although on the day they were considerably less effective than the Welsh squad.Saturdays game was touted by Gatland as the game to stake a claim to a Lions place.Perhaps you could tell me what English players excelled.Originally Posted by Bobcock
I dont understand what you mean by balance is crucial to the tours success. In my opinion what's crucial to the tours success is a squad of players that can beat Australia.I don't care about the nationalities ratio I want the best players to go to Oz.
Don't forget Wales and to a lesser Ireland are big game players Look at there recent Grand Slam performances. When did England last win a Grand Slam?
I think England are a good side but young and lacking in big game experience. If you think England are any better than good you didn't see the game I saw on Saturday
It's a tough call. Tuilagi can be devastating, but Jamie Roberts owned him on the weekend. Ben Youngs was owned by Phillips (not helped by the English pack playing like a Welsh one, guffaw) tough to leave out Robshaw, but Warburton and Tipuric must play, especially Tipuric.
Tomorrow is the big day when the Lions squad gets named.
The media seem to think that Sam Warburton has the captaincy in the bag. Hope so, but I am not 100% convinced that he is the best choice, but maybe the best choice in a field of few runners.
Paul O'Connell has just come back from injury and by all accounts is looking the part and if Gatland thinks he is an automatic selection for the Test 15 then he would be my outside choice to get it having done it before.
Other than that there are few options although I could still se a suprise with a non captain getting it, pseudolus mentioned Wood which is not altogether silly and AWJ's name has been bandied around a fair bit.
There is something that does lead me to believe that Big Sam has it and has already been informed.
Here was my squad that I picked.....
I believe that they may take two players above the number I selected....
Fullbacks: Leigh Halfpenny, Rob Kearney
Wings: George North, Tommy Bowe, Tim Visser, Alex Cuthbert
Centres: Jonathan Davies, Jamie Roberts, Manu Tualagi, Brian O Driscoll
Fly Halves: Johnny Sexton, Owen Farrell
Scrum Halves: Mike Phillips, Danny Care, Ben Youngs
Props: Gethin Jenkins, Ryan Grant, Andrew Sheridan, Adam Jones, Dan Cole, Euan Murray
Hookers: Richard Hibbard, Dylan Hartley, Rory Best
Second-Rows: Richie Gray, Geoff Parling, Alun Wyn Jones, Paul O' Connell, Jim Hamilton
Flankers: Tom Croft, Sam Warburton (C), Sean O'Brien, Chris Robshaw
No 8s: Ben Morgan, Johnnie Beattie
For the record I would love to see Jonny Wilkinson picked above the two 10's I have selected, but I really cannot see it happening.
I would also select Alex Corbisiero over Sheridan if fit (although with two extra players maybe just add him in...), but I don't think he will be in the mix after 1 game in 5 months.....
I'd also add either Tom Wood or Toby Falatau to the list with the extra numbers.

No way Farrell can start, he chokes in the big games, was schooled by Mr Wilkinson on the weekend.
Guffaw.
Yes give the big job to a guy who has never beaten the Wallabies and pack the side with players whose ass has been handed them the last eight tests.
Ribbing aside, have you looked at the draw?
I don't know how big the squad is, but they are playing each Super XV side, with 3 day gaps.... That's some workload...
So I hear...... I'm not convinced by Farrell, but then I'm not convinced by Flood or Preistland or Biggar and certaily not by Hook to fill that number 10 shirt either.
That's why I would like to see Wilkinson get it, always been a Jonny fan.
