The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More (Shorts, 2024)

Wes Andersen reimagining of Roald Dahl stories.

Beautifully directed, awesome cast, excellent entertainment.

I have just finished watching the 8 part 2014 BBC political thriller 'The Honourable Woman', starring Maggie Gyllenhaal & Steven Rea amongst others

I found it very good and well worth a watch 8/10

Yeah, and they acted together as brother and sister in Donnie Darko.

She played a hooker in The Deuce which I highly recommend. She should have kept her clothes on though.

Actually, I remember watching that, set in 70/80s drug pimpin' NYC. Yup, well worth a watch.

She's kinda renowned for getting her kit off in movies.

Did either of you think this through by the way?

I definitely thought there'd be one or two posters that wouldn't get it. :-)

Recently redid the 4 episode The Defiant Ones.

A must watch for anyone that was listening to music in the 90s.

    Superb.

I watched the first 2 episodes of the Apple TV legal thriller based on the 1980s Scott Turow book.
I enjoyed the book when i read it back in the day and also enjoyed the 1990 Harrison Ford movie based on the book.

I am having a hard time keeping my interest in this new version.
I can't seem to connect with any of the characters so far.
Will watch subsequent episodes as and when they arrive but would suggest reading the book or catching the 1990 movie.
    4/10 so far

I think it's excellent, and the casting was top notch.

    7.5/10 for me.

    Back to Black (Movie, 2024).

Amy Winehouse "biopic" that was supposedly not well received by her father or ex husband.

Which surprises me, since it totally glosses over what a pair of parasites they were and how much they ultimately contributed to her death.

    6/10

^ Well I have now watched the first three episodes of season 3 of The Bear.
My first reaction was well they will not be a season 4, thank goodness.
However I read in The guardian that season 4 has already been shot and ready to go.

Season 1 was terrific. It hooked me immediately. I couldn't take my eyes off it.
Season 3 is wow there's 100 plus minutes I have watched so far that I won't get back.
As is my practice I will watch the other episodes but will be grateful that there are only 7 30+ minute episodes left.

    Very disappointing.
