    The Highwaymen

Not many surprises here, but a well made movie.

Bonnie (of Bonnie and Clyde fame) is presented as quite a fashion icon.

In reality she'd apparently go months without bathing, and the pair of them basically looked what they were: people who slept in a car.

    7/10

So just an FYI, Netflix have a couple of new series starting next week:

The Silence (which appears to be a version of A Quiet Place extended to a series)
Black Summer (which appears to be their version of The Walking Dead).

Fans of either genre might be interested. April 10th/11th respectively.

I noticed a series today called Diggstown and was momentarily excited, but on closer examination it has nothing to do with the excellent hustler caper from 1992.

Then it occurred to me that some people may not have seen this splendid movie.

There are lots of torrents about with few seeds, so I'll leave you to find the one of your choice.

    Diggstown (1992).

"After being released from a Georgia prison, smooth-talking con man Gabriel Caine (James Woods) teams up with his partner in crime, Fitz (Oliver Platt), and travels to remote Diggstown. Upon arriving, Fitz and Caine bet the wealthiest resident, former boxing manager John Gillon (Bruce Dern), that they know a guy who can beat Diggstown's 10 best fighters in one day. After Caine reels in "Honey" Roy Palmer (Louis Gossett Jr.), an aging boxer and old acquaintance, the grift is on."

Saw it years ago, but it was well worth a second look. Well-cast movie!

The season finale of the The Grand Tour, their great 90 minute Mongolian special to cap off the season, almost has to be seen to be believed.

It is so utterly, utterly terrible that it could be used as an implement of torture.

That's disappointing. Their specials were normally decent viewing. What was wrong with it?

Now, I need to find a Netflix series to watch.

    They were.

The Patagonia, Burmese and Mid-East ones were fantastic.

This was 90 minutes of nothing. Get parts of a car delivered to them in some rural grass plain. Put it together. Drive it over/across various terrain. Arrive at a small, empty wooden hut. The end.

90 minutes with Sybil would be more preferable.

    You'd get a decent 87 minute kip.

Harrelson has a knack for picking up excellent supporting roles. Thanks for the recommendation. I enjoyed its simplicity.

"A Gang Story" (2011). French crime drama...English subs. IMDB gave it 7...I'd go 7.5. On PB.

"Den Of Thieves" (2018). Elite gang of LAPD cops vs an elite gang of bank robbers. Good stuff. IMDB 7; I'd go 8.

Just finished watching the Finale of The Grand Tour, Episode 14. Vast improvement on the Mongolian Special.
In fact imho, the best show of the series since Season 1 Episode 1. And including an almost documentary on the history of Ford in the UK plus a special ending.

    Black Summer (Netflix, 2019).

Zombie apocalypse through a series of visceral vignettes with an underlying plot burrowing its way out.

    Actually not bad.

...The Silence on Netflix...a disappointingly predictable offering that reeks of Hallmark TV: loving family terribly concerned about each other and how they're doing during the crisis. While the women cry, Stanley Tucci morphs from suburban loving dad to hunter-killer loving dad. Jump cuts add a modicum of excitement, but plot inconsistencies and pedestrian dialogue weigh the movie down...4.5/10...

Agree on all points, especially plot inconsistencies. Far too many. Watched it last night.
Should have shot that weird religion guy the moment he appeard outside the house and wrote "The girl is fertile".
