They are very good, but like the US Delta force and many others they to have had some monumental fuck ups, like the (in)famous Bravo patrol, if you read the whole true story by Peter Radcliff "I think he was the company Sargent" then mr. Mcnab (not his real name) was a clown not listening to the advise given in the preparations for the patrol, and they had radios that they could not use because of bad communications about frequency's before the patrol started, not what you would expect from a top outfit.

Anyway the (Libyan) Iranian (thanks Noodles) Embassy was brilliant.

Here is a list (not complete) of the Danish specialforces the "huntsmen corps" international operations, we get to know where they have been sometimes, but always after the fact, and that is the extend of the information released, I to think that details about special force clandestine and international operations should stay secret, no need to help present and future enemy's.

The rushed preparation of "Desert Storm" meant that the Bravo guys were given comms and maps that were useless for the mission. But orders is orders. - They did find the SCUD launchers though.. But could not evade capture after being ambushed.


The book "Ghost Force. A Secret History" of the SAS, by Ken Connor is a pretty informative read about the regiment's formation and history. It also explains a lot about the military and political carve-up of the big pie, after WWII ended.

I thought the SBS was the best special forces. You don't hear too much about them.
I think they are the UK equivalent of the US navy SEALS.

But they weren't really ambushed were they? They did have a fantastic battle with some imaginary APCs though. Those are the toughest kinds to fight.
