    That Morrissey

I always thought he was a twat. And possibly he still is.

But against all my better judgement I am enjoying some of his later albums.

Ofcourse The Smiths is crap for those girly goths so I will continue to avoid that like the plague.

So (in your opinion) is Morrissey's music good or a big pile of shite?

I agree with KW that The Smiths really is his best work. Give it a listen. Johnny Marr is a good guitarist and Morrissey writes what you might call literate lyrics. As for Morrissey's solo stuff, I find it a bit spotty. Last album of his I think I listened to was alright though, with that song about America and the hamburger. But that was, what, five years ago?

Plus, Morrissey's like an asexual vegetarian vampire or something, which makes him interesting.

I was never into all the daffodil in the back pocket scene but The Smiths made some brilliant songs. Johnny Marr and Morrissey together were a great combination, on his own he can fukk off for all I care.

Fukk nose. I can remember a load of kids at school a few years younger than me carrying daffodils everywhere because knobwand did. I thought the tattoo of a sheep was the closet Welsh sign.

It's all good, solo and Smiths, although I haven't heard his more recent albums.

    He went from this:

    To this:

Never mind the gladioli circa 1981 - don't judge a man by his past.

No matter what he may be, he is a great singer and performer. I prefer the older stuff myself.

Never liked them at the time, but I bought a "best of The Smiths"- type album a couple of years ago that I really can enjoy and appreciate the sardonic lyrical humour a bit more, now.

Morrissey was a peerless lyricist at his best and a prancing nonce at his worst. I thought The Smiths was one of the best bands of the mid-late 80s, but then the competition was sparse.

Morrissey get all poncy about people cooking food

    Smell of meat 'offends' Morrissey

Morrissey's latest album is called Years of Refusal

Morrissey walked off stage during his set at the Coachella festival in California on Friday after declaring he could "smell burning flesh".
According to festival goers who reported his comments on internet forums, the committed vegetarian added: "And I hope to God it's human."
Morrissey, 49, was performing at the event but apparently took offence to the smell of barbecues.
His former band The Smiths released an album called Meat Is Murder in 1985.
One contributor to the Coachella message board said Morrissey was "totally choked up and gagged on his way through Some Girls and left the stage only to come back and gag some more".
    'So offensive'
One fan said she was "so disappointed" with Morrissey's set although many defended him, particularly regarding his objection to the smell of meat.
A contributor from fan site Morrissey-Solo said: "I know a lot of people think he's being precious about the smell of burning flesh, but I wholeheartedly agree with Morrissey; it's hard to be joyous and uplifting when you're confronted with something that you find so offensive."

After all the festivals he's done you would think he would know people eat meat there. Do us a favour and boycott any festival or venue that serves meat, that would be a very veggie gesture. Oh I forgot you like the cash and attention.
