I'm utterly embarrassed to admit that I watch Idol. American TV is generally appalling except for a few independent movie channels on satellite. But Idol is one of the few shows that you can watch with the entire extended family and forget about the sh*t day that you had at work. When you have 100,000 people try out for the show each year, you'll occasionally get truly amazing performances:
