PC games from pantip plaza

just bought a pc game from pantip plaza -I should add that I am not really a "gamer" and this is my first such purchase.
When I put the disc in and installed the thing I was asked to put the disc key in (no doubt to protect against IP infringements) before I could play it but, of course, this was not included with the pantip plaza edition.
Am I screwed or is there a way round this?
I am quite surpised by this since there were many games for sale and no doubt all of them require some sort of security check. Are they are like this?

Have you read the "read me" and all the other texts giving instructions on how to open the game?
I had the same experience years ago, but then there was some key to open a "crack" for the game.

What does it mean by disc key? Usually it is a password printed on thre disc, box or manual. Does it mean a separate disc?

I am a gamer & I've never heard of this.

yes it would come on an original disc in the packaging somewhere. pantip plaza games are knock-offs, of course, without the number included. I am sure anyone who has ever bought a knock-off pc game will have the same issue and I am sure many people know how to overcome it or they would not still be selling them by the thousands in pantip.

Surely they just scribble the number required somewhere on what you've bought? If they haven't you can pull most of the codes required for most games off the net.

As for needing a second disc, I've never heard of that & can't help.

open "my computer"
highlight the disc with one right click - then left click it and choose explore.
look on the disc for files called readme which should open with notepad , maybe a folder called crack , look for a readme in there - also some files will be .nfo , open them with notepad - DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK.

be aware that some will have an exe called keygen which will produce a key for you to enter ( some of the keygens will also drop a trojan onto your system )

you can always download your games via bittorrent and read the comments for the torrent as they should tell you if the file is ok.

No. And you don't need a second disc.
I've on occasion been left with a game I couldn't open, or the data were fukced, but most worked well.

Another hint: go into the directory you downloaded it to (if you did) and have a look for clickable applications.

It's not the serial number you're looking for, but a crack-path. Most likely an application file.

Only because you haven't done it before, and, you might have bought one of the few which don't work.

Ask a 15 year old Thai kid to help you, they'll know what to do!

Try looking for a folder called 'CRACK'

yes there is a folder called crack with various files in it but what to do next? none are nfo files

Copy all those files into your installed directory and choose overwrite when requested.

Then try play again

Do you know where the game has been installed to ?

Probably disk c / program files

I did as you said and it seemed to work ie I got past the serial key request. However, the program then just hung up on me.
