Downloading nostalgia.

Recently I have been downloading a lot of TV programmes and movies which I am storing, unwatched. When I take my boat across the Pacific, I won't have access to TV generally, as Satellite systems for boats are unavailable to all but those with Smeglike finances.

I'm dropping down loads of modern stuff, but at 750gb, its getting tougher to find anything decent. So, I went back in time. I've been getting the entire series of such things as The Wonder Years, Huckleberry Hound, Donald Duck, Bewitched and I Dream of Genie. Even The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, Twilight Zone, Hancock's Half Hour, Citizen James, Life on Mars, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Three Stooges and Metal Mickey. I have also picked up on Old movies from ancient (All Quiet on The Western Front), to 40s and 50s classics with Monroe, Bogart, Ladd and Cooper. (Indeed just managed to hold a small screening of The King and I {Yul Brynner} for some inquisitive locals).

During calms, and particularly on the longest leg between Mexico and the French Marquesas, I will have unparalleled high quality viewing tailored purely to my own tastes.

It's bloody terrific!

Any suggestions on obscure but good programmes up to the late 60s, will be welkcomed

It may be banned but I have seen fake copies of the DVD being sold many many times in Panthip and IT Mall. Same for Anna And The King as well, but not as often....

Just downloaded the first series of Laugh In. In the 60s I just thought it was a bit funny. Nowadays, I can see it really was very sophisticated in production and it remains very funny.

"We award next week's Flying Fickle Finger of Fate to California Governor Ronald Reagan. We don't know what for yet, but plenty will come up in the next seven days".

The comments about Hubert Humphry, George Wallace, the Vietnam war are especially damning in retrospect. Grab Laugh In if you can and if you want a true l;augh...and if you still think Goldie hawn and Chelsea Brown are porkable.
