The original Bangkok Dangerous, not the shitty Nicholas Cage one.
Beautiful Boxer, a true story about a ladyboy muay thai fighter.
There are a few in the "Review the last film you watched" thread.Originally Posted by AztekLabel
Just watched Brokedown Palace, not bad but a bit of an insult to the Thais in parts, no wonder they banned it and it was shot in Manila.
Clare Danes was banned afterwards from the Phillipines for making really bad comments about the country and its people.
At least it never had the customary Hollywood ending. Everything didn't really live happily ever after.
Pattaya Maniac
AKA: Sai Lor Fah / Lightning Rod

My mate borrowed my DVD of Chocolate two years ago and is still masturbating over it.
He can bloody well keep it.
Last one I saw was this one: Jan Dara - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It had quite a bit of nudity and sex in it, as I recall.
And a lot of candour for a Thai film (or any other media type) in that it portrayed Bangkok being bombed (by the RAF) during the WWII era it was set in.
The bird doing the sex scenes wasn't Thai though..![]()
I thought Jan Dara was a good film....Art film of course
^I enjoyed it a lot. I went to see it at the cinema with a hot date when I was single at the time.Good things happened after.
Nak Nak - the old 1990-something version. Classic Thai ghost story
MonRakTransistor - Interesting movie about a young Thai country guy's life. Captures the Thai attitude toward many things in my view. My favorite Thai movie. Originally recommended to me by a uni student studying film. Thai language but if you can find a DVD maybe its been translated.

I was not thrilled when she brought it home, but it was actually pretty good.
The story takes place at the College of Music, Mahidol University over one year and covers the three seasons that Bangkok typically experiences – summer, winter and monsoon. It chronicles the life of a young high school student, Pom, and his impulsive decision to attend a music school, unknown to his parents, because of a girl he has secretly liked for three years, Dao. At the music school, he befriends Aom, who eventually becomes his best friend at the academy.
As a talented rock drummer he aids a wise Japanese instructor, Jitaro in research. He also forms a rock band with two friends, Ched and Chat. However, in order to become closer to the talented violinist Dao, he joins the orchestra and is assigned by the feisty conductor, Rosie, to play timpani.
Eventually, as time schedule collides, he is forced to choose between playing in a rock band or the orchestra, and is also forced to choose between his crush on Dao, or his best friend, Aom.
There is this one too. I have been asked by many, many Thais for an autograph and to be photographed with because they think I am him. I am not sure why.
