Somebody, somewhere discovered or created it and that meant they got to call it whatever the fuck they wanted.
Where are you going with this?
Not going anywhere simply pointing out that
The use of Scotch for Scots or Scottish is otherwise felt to be incorrect, esp when applied to people
What a coincidence. I was just thinking of Scotch pies a few days ago. I have eaten quite a few in my time but it has been a couple of decades since I last ate one.
A popular way of eating a Scotch Pie (at least in Scotland), is inside a morning roll, usually from the same baker's, as a breakfast.
I'd smash that.
I found a scotch egg in the supermarket today and yesterday a mate called and said he was on his way to buy $50 slabs of San might light and would I like one. FOOK YEAH . Decent bevvy this 5% about and not much calories so you loose weight the more you drink
Probably just have peas with the scotch egg.
^ Good choice... you'll waste away!
Got me in the pie making mood. Just ordered from Amazon, 2 sets of 4 of these. Not fond of the throwaway aluminium type you get here, looking for something more substantial.
they look lush mr diggler...had a pie the other day and it was rancid... worst pie ive ever had.... miss eye's brand or something like that
I really must pull my finger out a try your recipe Dirk I'll be honest and say I've never made a pie.
No point in making a pie then, bought pastry and maybe tinned filling, may as well just buy ready made pies! Buying ready to use ingredients should be a last resort, with the pleasure of cooking for me at least being creating something from scratch. That said, pastry work is indeed a pain in the proverbial, particularly here in Thailand because of the heat and humidity.
I made a lovely lamb stew last week that would have been even better in a pie.
The pastry scares me, need to get onit like a car bonnet.
Maybe a lamb stew pasty hmmm.
The possibilities are endless.
