The competition can include all curry from around the world, not just India or Bradford
How about some Thai Green/red/yellow curry....
I'll stop now, this thread is making me damn hungry
Shalom
^props to you for being a good sport, Joe.
But I still don't like your pack of sauce & canned boiled potatoes. I think that's cheating. But you're a single dad, so you've got an excuse. Keep on trucking (biking) on!
I'm going to do a chicken and chickpea curry in the next day or two.
I am open to recipe suggestions.
A lazy one that certainly isn't for purists.
5 spices and un-toasted cumin.
Chicken breasts, crushed tomatoes, chickpeas and coconut milk.
A fine, tasty post-gym hit of protein.
Cooking up a pot of curry for the crew of The Admiral Graf Spee which has just hoved into harbour today (they have not eaten since December 1939)
That orangey hue can mean only one thing...
Yes it is the lushest curry of them all, the tandoori.
Yes you have to be patient with the brown basmati.
It is no good when undercooked.
First slops and enough for 9 more days
Anyway my recipe to qualify for the curry off battle is
2 large onions roughly chopped
1 bulb garlic roughly chopped
Fry until onion starts to brown
Add 400g of chopped chicken breast and fry a bit
Add 1 jar Tandoori paste (pataks or sharwoods) and fry a bit
Add 2 tins chopped tomatoes
Add 500ml of thickened cream
Add 7 splashes of fit sot
Add 2 table spoons of syrup (or just sugar)
Add some garam masala, cumin, coriander, nutmeg, turmeric
Add a tin of kidney beans
sprinkle a heaped tablespoon of flour and mix it in for thickener
Boil 500g dry weight of brown basmati
Serves 10 adults
I would like to nominate my Jupiter photo for the poll thread
Bought a 500gr bag of these today, having recently gotten into adding them into curries and bean based salad dishes.
What really impressed though was that I was able to tell the kid that these can kill people. Kill people! Dead! and not be lying.
I was met with a disbeleiving "Let's google that when we get home Papaa"
The downside is she's probably scared off kidney beans for life.
Damn tasty looking curry, Loops.
Edit: Still had this open in a tab from yesterday, actually thought of Looper when reading.
Discovering WW1 tunnel of death hidden in France for a century - BBC News
WWI tunnel that was sealed off with an unusually well placed bomb, sealed off hundreds of WWI Germans to await their slow death, in their living quarters, with their insignia, medals, photos and letters, and had rested untouched ever since.

^ minimum 20 minutes roiling boil if i remember correctly. Buy tinned
^^^Fascinating stuff Lu and I will read up on that. Maybe Mark Felton has a yootoob
Just to clarify on my cooking instructions: Don't add syrup/sugar if you are making korma. Instead add 1 chopped chilli + 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar.
And a follow-up on the serving instructions for the subsequent 9 portions of curry:-
Each portion consists of 3 tablespoons of curry. The cold curry is very viscous so each table spoon is about the size of a small woman's fist.
To this is added a piece of red capsicum roughly chopped.
Spread some rice on a plate and clingwrap and microwave for 2 minutes while the curry is heating.
10 plates of curry for 40 minutes up front labour puts this comfortably into blokes' cooking territory
The sharp-eyed viewer will note that a proper big-balled British-Bulldog bruiser battle-cruiser has hoved into view this evening in the form the HMS King George V and seen off the Fuhrer's puny pocket battleship so it is a proper British curry night tonight
The KGV would go on to lead the battle group which sank the infamous battleship Bismarck in 1941, following a 3 day chase after the sinking of the mighty HMS Hood (with the participation of HMS Ark Royal for Fairey Swordfish torpedo support, upon which my great uncle served).
Who cleans your stove top Looper... it's spotless.
I'm fascinated by old naval battles but can't concentrate tonight.
Anyway, last week my dear wife took a rare excursion away from the telly and around the house, during which she chanced upon the kitchen. I'm glad she did as while she stopped off she produced this lovely Japanese curry. I don't know the provenance but I'm pretty sure the chicken, carrots and potatoes were added fresh... and damn nice it was too.
I didn't spend too much time on presentation cos I thought I was dreaming, so I just dumped some rice on top.
^^ Bogon Tip #953
Add a handful of frozen garden peas to the rice when cooking.

Computers broken at the moment so there's a delay on the poll, more time to get your entries in esteemed TD curry club members.
