Whispers of Summer? Lovely name. What sort of fruit blend is that?

^whispers of summmer juice: apple, grape, peach, orange, passion fruit, mango. Produced by the brand Ceres, from South Africa.
These are from a PI brand of juice, Locally. Made them yesterday, and they're now still bubbling nicely.
Soursop (guyabano) & Pink Guava
I don't know the alcohol % of my past pineapple wines, but a glass at dinner (~250 ml) makes me nicely tipsy. Does the job. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I like wines. Cheers!
^I'll be ready if ever there's another liquor ban & lockdown. With WFH setup the past months, I've had time to visit my fermentation vessels (and give them loving shakes), plant some herbs and improve my cooking skills. I'm ready for the apocalypse!
As a girl scout, our motto was: be prepared. Cheers!
I'm happy to see my thread has inspired so many amateur vintners.
@happynz - we don't get the Ceres Apple-Cherry mix here, I think. I haven't seen it. These are the "Whispers of Summer" and Cranberry - Kiwi. (1 usd ~ 50 pesos)
@cujo - I started making wine prior to your thread. My first batch was brewed in early May, when my supply of Tanduay rhum was getting low due to the lockdown & liquor ban here. I think it was haopynz & tomcat who suggested making wines & shared their recipes in the "how has coronavirus affected you" thread. Having worked in the Middle East - they know about liquor scarcity. But, to all of the amateur vintners out there, cheers!
(There's this guy on YT who made onion wine - he said it's very oniony in smell & taste - so I'm not interested in that! Lol)
^happynz is my Ceres brewing brother!
Ceres juices are a bit more pricey here at almost 2 usd - but then they're imported & have various flavours. We don't have apple-cherry or lychee flavours, though. The local juices are sold at an average of 80 pesos (1.6 usd). I browsed through my pics and saw that there are 2 more Locally flavours that I haven't tried, namely Tamarind & Pomelo, so I'll be buying those in my next grocery run. Cheers!
I hadn't clicked on this post yet but I assumed , as always when someone takes the initiative to do something and post it , they will just get chewed and kicked in the balls for it.
And this post was no exception.
Homeless ppl wouldn't drink it !
Jail birds wouldn't drink it !
Edit : at page 5. Someone said they'd just use it for insecticide.
Why TF are you making wine ? Don't they sell alcohol in your town ?
Vintage TD. But hey, Cujo knew it was coming. Because he's normally dishing it out himself

Jethro,
Happy lives in Saudi, no alcohol, Katie is in the Philippines where liquor sales are on and off. She can get booze but is having fun playing with the fruit juices. Topper is in a dry area at this time. You are the most clueless person about the world to ever post here I do believe. Congratulations..
My interest was piqued by Cujo's thread. I don't drink beer these days and my long and thorough research has confirmed that nothing under B400 a bottle around here is actually 'wine'. There might be some grape wine in it but the stuff sold in boxes is not 100% grape wine. Many foodstuffs in Thailand do carry content labelling. This is missing from the alleged wine sold in boxes here. Exactly what gets put into the box, I don't know.
Thus motivated and with plenty of time on my hands I reread this thread and gathered some essential supplies. Apple wine was the plan. Only to find out when ready to rock and roll that the sugar has vanished. No mind, I had only found a general purpose yeast that will probably do only half a job. So I ordered some Red Star yeast off Lazada as suggested by tombeckett at #106,107. Whilst waiting for the yeast I can gather some sugar and more empty vodka bottles.
Apart from apple wine, I also plan to attempt some of the Isan hooch. Anyone tried that? The last time it was served to me it looked a bit like banana milk shake, distinctly yellow and cloudy. It was just about drinkable. Don't expect to see it on a wine list at your local fine dining restaurant any time soon. I was told it is made from water which has been used to soak sticky rice. Plus sugar and yeast. Watch this space.
This crude sumbitch has some good tutorials.
Just make sure everything is scrupulously clean. Allow for venting during fermentation. Use a clean hose for decanting into your preferred serving vessel.
Good luck and I look forward to hearing of your successes.
Campden tablets?
So just how likely is morbid obesity?
Any doctors here want to field that one?
I'd say the key is to brew and then drink, then brew again.
Hopefully katie's 16 litres won't leave her with the 'Imelda' look.
^Lol
I drink only 1 glass of wine a night (and some nights are alcohol free), so I think I'll have supply until Christmas time. The last batch that I did, I gave some of it fo family members (who liked it). So those 16L will make many people happy, not just me.
I might try rambutan & banana from fruits - if I can get them. Will need to blend then strain/ filter the juice. Let's see...
I've watched Pawpaw from the YT channel Doing It Cheap - he's an expert in making homemade wines. I also tried his "fake Bailey's" recipe - it was good as well.
Btw, I exercise regularly & eat healthy, so hopefully I won't have that Imelda look!
Let's partay!!! Cheers!
