Thread: Drunk food

Well it's a bit of a dilemma snubbie- when drunk, do you call out for dwunk food, or cook it at home? TBH, I normally have some doggie bag or leftovers from a previous delivery in the fridge- and of course a microwave. EZ. Tomorrows brunch will be reheated lamb rogan josh, with 'arfa garlic nan.

I'm planning to demonstrate why a grilled cheese sandwich is called "grilled" as an example of why they're called grilled sandwiches.

My challenge to you will be to demonstrate why there's a Brit dish called "Spotted Penis" (I'm too polite to use the word "dick", I don't want to offend our admin, Nev).

Dick is slang for pudding. Hence pulling your pud, easy

I have been known to get a late night delivery after a doing last call at the pub but not so much over the last year as I have not been able to spend anytime out so of late it is what ever I can throw together.

The ‘Dick’ in Spotted Dick seems to come from the shortened Old English names for pudding: puddog or puddick. In Scotland it is often called Spotted Dog Pudding.

I can't wait for topper to cook us some spotted penis. Grilled in the frypan, i trust.

I've done it. It starts out warm and exciting but soon gets too hot and it's almost impossible to get an even cook. Not recommended.

I am staying up beyond my usual bedtime just to see how the Mendip sandwich toastie works out. Better than Cliffhangers.

It may have ended up where the pink flamingo and unicorn met their fate

Right, whilst the children are arguing over who's got the smallest dick in the Doghouse, i will commit the cardinal sin of posting in the drunk food thread whilst sober but only to get it back into the food groove.

A quick beef kofta pitta with salad, onion, toms, mayo, hot sauce and green chili sauce. Don't care what it looks like it hit the spot.

I've never seen a spotted penis...it must be a European thing. I can explain why a grilled cheese is called grilled, however it would require pictures, flowcharts, a history lesson and things that really nobody here gives a rat's fuck about.

A Gyro? It does look tasty. There's tons of shwarma places here but none use pita bread and proper tzatziki sauce that I've found.
