^ So grilled tomatoes and grilled mushrooms CAN be a part of an American breakfast.

I could really go for some bacon and eggs on wholemeal toast right now.
    Right now.

Most likely in an omelet but highly unlikely to be found on hash browns or on the side. That restaurant is the exception not the rule. I can't think of a breakfast place that I could get that.

Dearest Bob, possibly you should use the Le repertoire de la cuisine more suited to a novice.

I wouldn't eat a breakfast that was more suited to a dessert menu.

But would you eat at a Michelin starred restaurant that served tomatoes and mushrooms with breakfast?

Waffles, maple syrup, sugar-laden "cereals", for example?
    I know what you mean.

^ Of course. Big Al's Diner, Bobby n Beth's Waffles, and Mama Jolene's Grits'n'Bacon, by dint of them not serving tomatoes for breakfast have better taste in breakfast food than michelin starred chefs.
I'm sure Mama Jolene's clients would agree with you. She sure knows her grits.

It's been a long time since I've been in a Waffle House...so I can't remember if those options were always on their menu or if that's something new. I know I never ordered them if they were. Of course when I did go to the "Awful Waffle," at 4 or 5AM after an "all nighter," was probably lucky to be able to see the menu let alone read it. In me "party hardy" days Waffle House was our Dennys.
