A friend at work told me about an importer in vientiane who brings in oysters from France direct to Vientiane on the 29th of every month.


Im quite partial to oysters and so is the wife, And ive heard they are a bit of an aphrodisiac so i thought i would give them a go,

These oysters arrive in Vientiane still live , which is not bad considering its even hard to get decent fresh seafood from Thailand, The only problem i had was the day they arrived we had already made plans to go to issan for the weekend.(Seperate thread for that) , so we sent the wifes aunty by to collect them , i had already left a deposit , so we didnt get thee advantage of eating them fresh that day , Theres no way im eating the buggers raw though so i decided to cook them Kilpatrick style





The other problem was the oysters cost $2.00 each and you had to order 100 minimum , a mate of the wifes agreed to take 50 of our hands but reneged later on so i ended up with 100 oysters

After preparing a few oysters i ran out of worcestshire sauce , so decided to improvise with some soy sauce , vinigar garlic and pretty much anything else that was handy

Good idea to cook them. they can be deadly if eaten raw.
They will give you the horn alright. make sure to give the Missus some, although if she's not up for them, BLD looks to have a well developed drinking wrist

I decided to barbecue em on coals so it was the wifes job to fire up the Lao style barbie while i made some nests out of alfoil to stop em falling over and loosing all the juice. Thats the least she could do after me forking out hard earned for some oysters eh

No i cant be sure, could of come from anywhere, But the cheese eating surrender monkey who sold them to me is the importer of them amongst other things, Vientianes a small place to be running a business specializing in quality tucker, so he would be shooting himself in the foot if it was discovered his product isnt what he claims it to be

Conclusion, we ate 25 each and i can honestly say that a woody was not happening, Would of been better of paying 100 baht for a Kamagra Jelly
