From Wikipedia:
The Waldensians arrived in the valley in the early 13th century. In a grotto nearby Torre Pellice they held the Sinod of Chanforan, by which they adhered to the Protestant Reformation (1590).
I was this close to posting Pinerolo and I was debating between the two.Originally Posted by dirk diggler

The sea looks too nice to be English... Is it France - somewhere slightly north of Nice?
Hello Betty.
You're right about it not being the UK. It does look like the south of France, but it's not in France either.
The Grand House could be Irish or Scottish?
Edit: sorry, not UK, is it Eire?
It could be, but it's not.
I think the castle is actually German in design, or at least was probably built by one, but it's not in Germany.
Are you there now,or in India?
I'm in India at the moment (and it's not India, but you are creeping closer)
Not Norway.
If you look at the pine tree, you can see that it is growing in a hot climate.
Ah, well spotted Wasabi, a horticultural clue for you perhaps?
