Cheers, some great comments above ...
Finding stuff in Thai, which the kids will watch is a little more difficult.
We have had some success with these ...
There are a heap of these on the net, under 2 mins long, just cats talking simple Thai.
Great to see "my boys" healthy and thriving, David!!!
My (almost) 3yo boys are going through their Dinosaur phase (which makes it easy for Christmas).
Universally, they LOVE this series of clips, 5 in total.
Great for a fun way of learning English ...
.
Just back in Oz Wednesday week ago, kids 9 and 7, 5 years away and they went back in to English, broken but understandable first day of school.
School tested them, know all the letters, basic reading, but poor speaking ability, in maths 2 years in advance of the Aussie kids.
Have a bit of an advantage here, wife is a Thai school teacher [never worked, got married ] moved to Australia and did 3 years full time English.
But I would say I pads, computers and watching western TV and movies have the kids English understanding good, just the speaking part is hard.
At school they are speaking English with the other kids, but when adults speak to them, they get very shy and don't speak, Thai way.
They show this on the cartoon channel here.
This maybe a bit older or not but there are many.
What we really need is a thread on how to untilise the cheaper bi-lingual school system here, but also get the kids IGCSE passes.
My eldest daughter as previously mentioned passed 5 IGCSE's in China, is now in Wesminster College in London studying sound technology Free Of Charge, she applied, did a SKYPE interview, was shortlisted , flew to London and got in.
Passing this course would be the equivalent of 3 A levels, giving good chances for a Uni place or sound (har har) qualifications for the job market.
I've opted out of the international school system with the next 2 kids, but would still like to get them through IGCSE's, thus enabling them to apply for college places in the UK.
There's almost a go business chance here, must be thousands in this boat?
Anybody else have any experience here?
Should have said "good business chance" bloody, beer and iPad combo
