Rayong-ish Area. Where to live along the Eastern Seaboard?

Not overly interested in any area going down along the left side, so really looking at from Sattahip going across to Trat.

Trat would be too far from schooling, unless they happen to have an International School or well reknown EP.



One stand-out option due to the urban center, is obviously Rayong.

What areas are nice to live in? gotta be close to the beach.

Ban Chang. Has Garden International School which is next door to Rayong English Programme School.

Yeah, those are two schools we are looking at. Quite a few decent schooling options on the Eastern Seaboard compared to down along Cha-Am, Hua Hin, Chumpon side.

You have experience living around there SK?

Were looking at Chiang Mai in the North, but the cons - commuting, and annual lung burning season have gone south over the past ten years.

Yep, lived in Ban Phe for six months and have a 3.25 rai plot of land there. Interviewed at REPS for a TEFLer job I tried to get. They pay pretty well. And while researching international schools for my step-daughter found out Garden International is one of the most affordable. Lots of kids from the school I worked at in Pattaya go to Garden after P6. If I get a real teacher certification before I move back then Garden, Regents in Pattaya and ISE in Chonburi would be the schools I'd try to get into.

Always on the look out for a cash buyer for the land in Ban Phe.

Cool, might hit you up for some info along the way, Sproglette has 18 more months of Kindy to go before starting Year 1. Looking at moving in 6 months to give us a year in the area first, just incase it's sh!t and we wanna move again before starting Y1.

One of my sis-in-law found us a nice deal on newbuild homes in the vicinity of Klaeng (she's in the central coast of Rayongshire I believe)... at Thai mates rates... nice and east of the Map-ta-phut sewage and oil slick, but could be a bit remote for those who crave sillyvisation; but yeah, this SE corner is one I favour.

Some very nice deserted beach's down that way as well Lu-Lu.

I was very surprised when we had a good poke around down there.

Punters love to hate on Pattaya but that area has much more to offer than Pattaya.

Look alright, and pretty clean given it's location, but one can never trust google images.


The plan/main point is to live near a beach so I can drop the kid at school, then go directly to the beach for a sea swim every morning.

Trouble is they are a bit far away from civilization.

Anyway, go to the Border and work ya way back. Ya might just find something that suits you.

Change of plan.


Mainly due to the shit-awful traffic, and also the 3 months of lung-burning air.

Decided to go retire to the beach instead.

Rayong area seems okay overall.
