^ Yep...
The silence is deafening.
Those poor, poor little birds.

This is the last one i took yesterday - they are 2 weeks old.
And so to today............
The wee bastards are 15 days old, and the brothers Dave are nearly bursting out of the nest.
One thing for sure is that these will be the last in this nest without some major rebuild. When they have flown, i'll take some photos of the knackered nest.
A pile of Daves.
Dave and Dave are fukin huge - I'm beginning to think they'll never be able to fly...
How cute are they?
Hope they fly soon, there are some nasty predators in Thailand that could get attracted . With the close vicinity to the wall, I'd worry most about a Tokay gekko, then centipede, then snake.
And I'd get the Missus to bang my shoes on the wall

Just been outside for a look - it's absolutely bollocksed.
One Dave is hanging out of the back (ooeerr), the other Dave is sitting on his head, and mum is sideways, sitting on both of them.
Not at all sure the nest will last the night.
I feel a long night coming on, i sure as shit wont sleep for fear.
Looks a bit like one's old worn out nut sack don't it? No worries Withers, they'll weather the storm and return for another egg laying pairing next season...Happy lads by the looks of it...Next year its Ding and Dong!Originally Posted by withnallstoke

Flight of The Daves.
They finally plucked up the courage about an hour ago.
Dave went first, closely followed by Dave.
Captured on video.

Happy ending...Not too unusual in Thailand!
Fookin' great thread.
The Daves do pre-flight checks.
"Right Dave. You ready?"
"Yes Dave."
And then they were gone.
Leaving behind a broken and battered home.
And a "steamer" on the car.
^ You sure a cat didn't eat them, and that's why they're gone???
Free fallin or Learning to fly?
Must be quite a rush getting your "sea wings"...
Used to be an old wildlife show that filmed some young birds plummeting from a hundred feet on their maiden flights...
Dave diary
By my reckoning then, the eggs were incubated for about 2 weeks, and the chicks spend about 2 weeks being fed.
I spent early evening yesterday waiting for the return to the nest, but this was the first time any of the birds didn't come back.
It's always been entertaining watching them trying to get back in the nest, but this time mum took them to the back of the house where they slept in a bush.
She came to the same conclusion as myself, and decided the nest was not a fit place in which to house young Daves.
I got a photo of them about 5 minutes after their first flight yesterday.
I think Dave looks a bit bewildered.
And the other Dave showed me his arse in contempt.
