2 day trip to Udon Thani

Whilst on my visit in January Peterpan had kindly offered for me to come and see him and I therefore gave him a bell and arranged the day to drive over.

The drive over that period would be from my place to Nong Hin and from there to Erawan. Turn on to the 210 and head through Nong Bua Lam Phu and on to Udon. For the trip back was going to take the scenic route up to Nong Khai and then all along the Mekong to Chiang Khan, turn South then to Loei and back home.

The girlfriend who had originally said she would come with me decided against it, and a travelling companion/ bed partner was duly arranged by her.

So off we set, on the leisurely drive to Udon. The countryside in the Loei province is fairly hilly and these rock outcrops could be seen everywhere



Loads of sugar beet are produced around Loei Provine and here there are fields of it as far as the eye can see

All the above picture where taken before we reached Erawan. After passing the shrine at Erawan (about 5 km out) the countryside became very flat and unimpressive.
