Great thread Stroller. Hope to update mine on Loei Province in a couple of months. It would be good if some other members could do a thread of the province they are in, especially the Non touristy places.
No pics, but just to let you know that for Bangkokians who don't like flying, Sangkhlaburi in Kan province is very similar, and unlike Nan is easily doable in a weekend by road.

It is common for 2 or3 farmers to share the harvester for the task.
Rice harvest is finished, and the fields are cleared for the next cycle:
The fields are burned before the soybean planting begins:
With steel-tipped rod, holes are made into which the soybeans are sown by hand.
