right, this has taken over 2 hours so i'm tapping out
some places will hopefully be retained
some things never change, no need for a bloke in a tight brown uniform blowing a whistle and demanding 200 thb every month
pussy for the inner Zouma or DJ Pat
The question? is it worth the arse ache to post up the rest.
Life is a beach and then you come home to TD
^ thanks, really its aimed at non members, but by god its a struggle to post. I reckon it'll take ages to post it all - wait on
Glad you finally made it back to Thailand.
Thanks for the pics. You are making me homesick.
Loads so slowly dunnit?
^sorry Kit, i can't guarantee the next few pages will help. I feel for you, i've been there with my mum. Just remember the time you have is precious.
Appreciate the pics & stories, toots. Yeah, posting pics here is a palaver. Thanks for the effort!
Stick with it MM!
Some good pics here.
One very odd thing with TD is that posting pics is not only tedious, at least it is for me, but also that you can do the same thing a dozen times and all goes well then the next post will be rotated or missing or something.
Welcome back, and thanks for the the thread regarding the Chanthaburi area.
IMHO the best beach south of Chanthaburi is the one at:
Ao Tan Khu Beach

Google Maps
A fine Thai beach. Koh Change to the west, clean water and sand. Many Thai "restaurants", some cabins to stay overnight.
The busy afternoon. Plenty of parking spaces
Beach looking south.
Along the shore there are plenty of trees for shade, under which seats and tables to be served with Thai food and drinks at are positioned.
Beach looking north.

The beaches west of Chanthaburi are not good.
The beaches south of Trat, down towards the Cambodian border are plentiful and less used. Turn off the south road, and they are there to enjoy.

A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
Great pictures Mike. It is pretty frustrating trying to post pictures from a phone which is what I have been trying to do.
That area looks great I love old Thai riverside areas. So much character and history in some of the old towns.
